BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

This is probably one of the worst things you can say about a Hitman game.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

Haven’t played CW4 yet but 1 & 3 are awesome chillout games.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

BSD users standing outside, face pressed against the glass, gently weeping.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

Abhorsen / Old Kingdom series.

I don’t like reading but I breezed through the first three books. I think all the dark, necromancy type stuff would be generally well received. The gates of the afterlife also sound really cool to be put in a visual form.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

In the Windows community I’m guessing the top message would say:

When you install Linux but didn’t realize a dozen locales were preselected

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

Edible yes, but smoked is the way to go.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

When I make it rather than “mashed potatoes made of bread” it’s more like “slightly moist croutons”. Breaks my heart.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

I’d say double genocide. Palestinians and transgenders.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

Not a lemming per se, but I stopped judging people based on the reasoning, “because God [supposedly] says so.” It takes effort, it really does, to hate things and people. It’s draining. I don’t know how so many religious people can be so focused on hatred, all the while forgetting the adage, “hate the sin, love the sinner.” You can easily cut yourself off from good experiences and relationships if you focus on staying “pure”. It’s lonely up on that pedestal.

I’ve been Christian-lite since before Trump was President but the rise of MAGA and strengthening of religious influence in politics has made me even more happy about my decision to step away from regular attendance or association with specifically religious groups. For them, righteousness trumps any amount of human suffering, and for some, suffering is a requirement of righteousness.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

🤦

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

Just a few days ago I wrestled with the overzealous sandboxing and security of the Chromium snap. Had to get a Flatpak and even then had to use some flags to get the proper permissions enabled. Next time I do a refresh I’m going with Debian.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

What’s your alternative? I’ve used OpenRC before and it was nice, but it didn’t take long to find a use-case that systemd handled easily but OpenRC made difficult. Also a few packages expect systemd to be present and either fail to install or partially install so I had to figure out how to implement the missing functions in OpenRC.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

When you have RSI you want to minimize every single key press.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

Underscores require you to use the Shift key.

What is the deal with Palestine and Hamas?

For mental health reasons, I had taken myself out of most political topics. But lately there seems to be a surge of talk about Palestine and Hamas (forgive me if I spelled this wrong). I do know it’s something to do with land rights, but it also seems to be so much more at the same time. I’m not trying to start any fights. I...

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

Wondering what the ideal romance with Shadowheart looks like. I picked her to hang out with at the first camp party but after that there was essentially no change in our relationship. Then when I finally got serious with Lae’zel she’s all, “I wish I was the reason you are so happy.” I mean, say something girl!

But 2nd playthrough, Karlach all the way.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

Definitely The Flash. The solution to EVERY problem is going faster.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

I started using sort of odd shaped zipper bags (the kind that come with a piece of furniture or electronics) so instead of 100 little things bouncing around the drawer it’s more like a dozen small baggies.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

Because of browser security I think TiddlyWiki has gotten a bit hard to use. 10 yrs ago I could write and update files without any security popups or cli flags or admin permissions.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

LMDE (Linux Mint Debian Edition).

I’m an Ubuntu user, which is built off of Debian, but as most others have said Snaps can be annoying. It also typically uses more resources than Debian (depends if you use the base version or some derivative). My next install will be LMDE (or some other Debian distro) because I prefer starting a little more barebones then getting things just how I like it. Ubuntu is more like Windows where things are nice and convenient OOTB but it’s more of a pain to dial it back. With Debian you’ll need a little extra work to get proprietary drivers installed but it’s nothing that has been done by thousands of others.

If you don’t really want to tinker with the OS and focus more on games and coding (non-OS) then Ubuntu is a safe bet.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

Lae’zel response seems a bit too nice. My best effort…

Lae’zel:

Is that an excuse?

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

If you’re taking a manual approach I would use a symlink:

$ ln -s /path/to/stuff/Bitwarden.1.0.7.appimage /path/to/stuff/Bitwarden.appimage

Then you can hang on to a previous version just in case, plus you can see from the original filename what version you’re on.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

I don’t mind if it has a small library or lack of integration but it really sucks I can’t add a template and delete the image or have a dedicated meme template folder.

It is open-source though, so make a request.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

There’s been at least a dozen times where I meant to switch party members and ended up attacking them instead. Really wish there was a confirmation click. I think I’ve had to hit a party member only one time ever because they were asleep or whatnot.
