CmdrShepard,

It’s probably good advice to eat at least one meal a day

CmdrShepard,

Are you really trying to take the moral high ground while arguing that the term “idiot” should be revived and solely reserved for people with mental disabilities related to intelligence? JFC this is what happens when you take sniffing your own farts a little too far.

It’s like you want to enshrine the word in its most hateful form rather than allow its meaning to be diluted into something powerless and inconsequential.

I just deleted my entire library and redownloaded it.

A lot of my files were shitty 480p versions of movies from the Napster days. Now they’re all 1080p, with a few 720p exceptions (mainly tv series episodes). All in all 500 something files in total. Now just watching uTorrent slowly download them all. Hopefully my VPN keeps the eyes off of me…

CmdrShepard,

NordVPN also doesn’t have port forwarding so you’re unlikely to be able to seed anything back. This’ll get you banned from private trackers and goes against the whole concept of torrenting.

CmdrShepard,

I think it’s more nefarious than that. Many departments want a good 'ol boys club where they’re the ultimate authority and they want their officers to fall in line rather than question department actions.

CmdrShepard,

My kid did mine too. My #3 song was “Everything is Awesome” from the Lego Movie.

CmdrShepard,

It’s not easier than configuring each one once and then letting them do all the work from there on out. Not trying to convince you to use them but they’re pretty damn great especially when you’re trying to watch multiple TV shows or see a movie that came out a lot sooner than you thought it would.

Low effort posts

Ask Lemmy is a place to ask thought provoking questions. The mods have been lenient with some of the recent posts on the basis that they must provoke thought for some people, but after seeing two posts essentially saying “what do you think of my stick?”, I believe we can raise the bar a bit on what kind of thoughts we want...

CmdrShepard,

Perhaps it’s a critique on the quality of the rest of the posts.

CmdrShepard,

I’m almost 40 and the CW had the same shit back when I was a teenager with shows like Smallville. It’s crazy they’re still following the same exact formula today 20+ years later.

CmdrShepard,

Have you actually verified whether you can turn this connectivity off? I know on other new cars it’s embedded in the electronics with no on/off button.

CmdrShepard,

They’re all random names consisting of 7 capital letters too DINGBAO, VXSUFEN, WEGTHOS, etc.

CmdrShepard,

What happened to Diarrhea 1-3?

CmdrShepard,

It’s almost as if we’re all different people.

CmdrShepard,

This is the biggest downfall of Emby/Jellyfin IMO. It’s a tradeoff from being reliant on Plex’s authentication servers, but requires a lot of technical knowledge to setup correctly (rather than just port forwarding and relying on a strong password).

CmdrShepard,

It’s actually decent for finding really old, less popular movies/tv.

CmdrShepard,

I’d just recommend not settling for something in poor condition just because you feel beat down or overwhelmed by the grind.

You will be filled with constant regret if you wind up buying some dilapidated property simply because you’re tired of the back and forth because once you sign the papers, you’re stuck with it. The process isn’t enjoyable, but try not to let that get to you.

Not sure what the exact condition of house is nor what contractors charge for work in your area, but in my area of the US, $15k isn’t going to get you very far on most projects. One of my coworkers just spent $27k to have an HVAC system installed and $40k for new windows. I think he got fleeced, but even halving those prices, you’re still being given a rough quote equivalent to these somewhat basic tasks for what sounds like serious structural work.

CmdrShepard,

Now OP needs to create a 20x sized washing machine.

CmdrShepard,

OP’s mom is coming for a visit.

CmdrShepard,

“Child free” just sounds like people who don’t want kids. “Anti-natalism” sounds like people who don’t want kids to exist at all.

CmdrShepard,

That’s why you’re supposed to get your hair braided into corn rows and a Puka shell necklace to remember your trip. Those last forever.

CmdrShepard,

create a bubble filled with farts and car emissions that can never escape?

What a man likes to do in his garage is his own business.

CmdrShepard,

Looks like it didn’t work. We can’t see your post.

CmdrShepard,

That’d be great. Currently 90% of my feed is /c/memes and while I do find them entertaining, I also miss a ton of posts from smaller communities related to my hobbies that I would engage with more.

What's the point of buying new phones every years?

Other than your carrier give it for free or cheap, I don’t really see the reason why should you buy new phone. I’ve been using Redmi Note 9 for past 3 years and recently got my had on Poco F5. I don’t see the point of my ‘upgrade’. I sold it and come back to my Note 9. Gaming? Most of them are p2w or microtransaction...

CmdrShepard,

Gaskets, o-rings, and screws exist. The waterproof argument is a weak one that doesn’t hold water. There’s no reason why it needs to be glued together and past phones have had waterproofing with a removable back and replaceable battery.

CmdrShepard,

It seems more like they just want to give mods the illusion that they can make executive decisions about the subs they run so that they'll work for free to Reddit's benefit.
