I didn’t used internet in the 1990s. But I used it in the early 2000s and Kazaa was my music goldmine, even when I downloaded something I was looking for.
Inspired by a post that popped on lemmy world today about Weird Al it got me thinking. I listed out a bunch of names but the one that I think fits the most would probably be Surfan Stevens. Who do you all think?
I had a dream I was on a plane. A totally normal flight. Going in for a landing when things went wrong at the last minute. I swear I could feel the heat of the flames as I saw them coming through the fuselage as the plane is breaking up around me. I woke up on my feet beside my bed sweating. I’ve never had a dream like that...
People are most afraid of nuclear energy by two reasons: accidents and wars.
The first has nothing to do with capitalism, we can only trust on workers and expect things to go ok. The second is more a fear mongering by the global north/rich people who want to make everyone worried when a global south country starts to invest in nuclear science and related things. In other words: capitalism influence.
I continued exploring it. But, aside of one or other interesting sites that catch my attention for long periods of time (e.g. TvTropes), I can’t find internet amusing as I used to do in my childhood/teens. Sometimes I pick a good site that keep me entertained while browsing CloudHiker, but isn’t the same thing anymore.
Internet in general is becoming boring and tedious. Don’t know if it’s because of my age (Started to use internet when I was 13yo now I’m 31) but the internet isn’t that exciting and curiosity inducing place to me.
I moved from Lemmy.ml because I liked the name of Lemmy.world and it ran a newer Lemmy version which meant I could make communities. I moved from Lemmy.world because they defederated from piracy communities they didn’t even host (but for some reason still kept the small piracy community they DID host) From thelemmy.club...
For example, I used to follow a lot of subreddits for individual YouTube content creators, however, Lemmy doesn’t really have the size or culture to support this currently.
Does it work in +18 subs too? I tried to see a comment thread In a post of a LGBTQ subreddit, but the post/sub (idk what one) was flagged as mature content, that requires an account to login and read, and I wasn’t able to read them.
It was about gender symbols! Not p*rn, before someone ask…
Churros! The recipe, by itself, is kinda easy. But, to do a really good one, it needs to be done in a perfect way. A very, very tiny error, while not ruining the recipe, will made a “maybe tasty, but not that good” one! I would rather to buy in a street food place and eat if I want to. I live in Brazil, so it is kinda easy to find one!

Have you ever had a hyper realistic dream that you still remember after years?

What is a niche interest or hobby you'd personally like to see represented more on Lemmy
For example, I used to follow a lot of subreddits for individual YouTube content creators, however, Lemmy doesn’t really have the size or culture to support this currently.

What genres of music do Lemmites enjoy?
Bands suggestions too, curious what folks are into!
What's a food you love, that isn't worth making from scratch?
For me, crepes ain’t worth the stress to make fresh. Just buy a little pack from store and focus on filling is my go to.
