Don’t worry, the real economic crisis is just now coming with the Fed planning on raising interest rates next year. That’s been a pretty reliable indicator that shit is about to hit the fan for the last few financial crisis. What we got after the Pandemic was just a little entrée.
I need a couple bil to train an AI model on ALL mythology and folklore from all cultures of the world to then create real gnomes, elves, trolls etc by sticking it in robots and releasing them into the wild, then they will constantly clandestinely steal materials from us to construct more fae.
the future is going to be so weird when we have living street lamps and genetically-engineered rats&pigeons that are compelled to clean up our all our garbage. perhaps we’ll have genetically engineered crocodile engineers to fix up our infrastructure too. genetically engineered wasps that clean our building facades. genetically engineered window cleaning birds with a squeegee shaped beak.
wouldn’t it be ironic if this tree will now live on for hundreds of years, because the act of cutting it down made people care about it?
I wouldn’t be surprised if it had just uncerimoniously died a couple decades from now with no one really caring except maybe locals and some photograpby nerds.

from what I’ve seen pretty much the only newly built “pre-war” architecture comes from citizens movements. You know, the people that actually have to live and work in these buildings, that can’t flee to their island on their mega-yacht.
It only takes around 3-5% more money, not to build oppulent buildings like this, but toned down, still beautiful versions that used to be the norm before the World Wars. But they are 100x more beautiful than any of the McMansions and shoe boxes we mostly build today.
at least that would be visually cool. currently we have none of the benefits of feudalism, but all of the downsides. Like at least during the massive wealth inequality around 1900, they built shit like this:
It’s a very good flag, but the original is way cooler. It’s a cool remnant from the era of the knights, changing it is like erasing history for no reason
