Hopefully it costs them dearly. Kinda like the whole Tumblr censorship fiasco and drastic fall in value but before they sell it. Put in the poor house

Because I was generally enjoying Reddit before being forced out by the API crap. I’m a creature of habit so tend to dislike change and as much as I’m generally liking Lemmy, I’m having to force myself to not check the app every time I get bored because I’ll just see the same posts 20 times in a day thanks to the relatively low level of interaction on the platform currently. Whenever I go looking for tech support online, it’s nearly always a reddit post from 2-8 years ago that has the answer but I don’t want to spend any amount of time on the site, particularly if I’m on my phone at the time since it means doing that annoying step of having to manually change “www” to “old” to make the site functional and readable. I guess I’m just feeling vengeful at yet another good (or some approximation of) thing ruined by yet another money-grubbing, power-hungry, self-important tosser.

Though I see what you’re saying… ish. I think at this point, we aren’t going to see a massive influx of users without the death of competing platforms like Reddit since there are enough people either happy to keep taking the punches or think sunshine shines out of Spez’s asshole. Frankly, we can do without the second kind of person but the first won’t do anything without a certain amount of persuasion and I reckon the sinking of the ol’ Reddit ship would be just enough of a toe-capped-boot up the nether regions to persuade.

Edit: grammar whoopsies

DebatableRaccoon,

It’s nice that he’s being honest about the bullshittery but all the same he can shove it. Glad I haven’t bought a Ubi game in years and it doesn’t look like that’s going to be changing any time soon.

DebatableRaccoon,

Problem isn’t just on Linux’s side for a change. Louis Rossmann did a video on Netflix’s bullshit some weeks ago. Seems it’s far from uncommon to not get what you’re paying for with those shitbags

DebatableRaccoon,

You’re not wrong but that’s not the point here. QBittorrent doesn’t have malware which means they got it from the wrong source.

DebatableRaccoon,

Bunch o’ fuckwits trying to make themselves sound like damned war heroes

DebatableRaccoon,

Which is what they are in the west anyway.

DebatableRaccoon,

Didn’t see that coming but you won’t catch me complaining

DebatableRaccoon,

Forgive my ignorance but I have to ask, just what is this adorable white ball of fluff?

DebatableRaccoon,

Not to mention the insane amount of exclusivity going on now and even the stupidity of certain features of the service not being available in certain areas. I stopped paying for Netflix when I got it from a rep that because I was living in a non-English-speaking country that I couldn’t have access to the English voice track of a show I wanted to watch.

Subscriptions are the next iteration of the console wars. They bank on exclusives instead of designing the best user experience and selling themselves on merit alone.

DebatableRaccoon,

Find another version. I’m pretty sure there shouldn’t be any age verification at all considering Lego games are usually 3 or 7+

DebatableRaccoon,

Yeah, I didn’t think about the whole political spying part of owning a children’s game. Bunch o’ control freaks

DebatableRaccoon,

God, I hope these bastards get sued 'cause little doubt they won’t be refunding the poor schmos who’ve just been robbed of their property.

DebatableRaccoon,

That’s funny. You should do stand-up

DebatableRaccoon,

Looks perfectly translated to me

DebatableRaccoon,

Fairer words have never been spoken

DebatableRaccoon,

Narcissism is generally seen as a negative trait so there already isn’t a non-derogatory way of calling someone a narcissist. Also, there is an acknowledged difference between being a narcissist and having NPD so as much as many here would probably say Empress has some kind of disorder, I bet very few have the credentials to diagnose which means it’s the former, and if we’re being completely honest, it’s a very practical word to describe a person’s behaviour. So I guess it has to be a “chill out, snowflake” moment for you.

DebatableRaccoon,

Not to mention they fit into crawl spaces so much easier than adults too. The possibilities are endless.

DebatableRaccoon,

It’s typically the ones who follow the rules that get the most shafted.

DebatableRaccoon,

I have little doubt someone will lay into me for saying this but is even Empress bothering anymore? I haven’t seen anything from her in months.

DebatableRaccoon,

I saw that on her telegram but wasn’t sure how serious she was about it. I guess we won’t be seeing any denuvo infections get cured any time in the near future cause god knows that shitheap is going to need plenty of attention.

As someone who only recently moved to somewhere with gigabit internet. At 15Mb/s (mind the mahoosive difference between megabits and megabytes), I can say I very much prospered from the significantly smaller repacks, not to mention the ease of mind of knowing my games were coming from a safe source. That said, even when living in the geographical 90s, my hardware was still competent. Even when I was running an i5 3470, I never encountered a decompression + installation time of more than 3 hours. I’m now running a hexacore Ryzen with 32G RAM and would struggle to use a whole hand for the amount of times I’ve spent more than a couple of hours on a Fitgirl installation so I’m not sure what you’re doing wrong but it’s not the repack.

DebatableRaccoon,

Including the problem of having too many games to choose from 😉

DebatableRaccoon,

I find it funny that they specifically refer to the past year for a large increase in piracy. Remind me when it was that companies started consistently charging even more for the base package of their games…
