Be honest, do you still use reddit?

I used to check the front page at least once every day, and occassionally check specific subreddits. Now I don’t look at reddit unless theres some drama, like mods getting purged, then I’d go there and enjoy the drama. Occasionally there will be questions that only reddit has the answer to so I have to reluctantly use it. I...

DolphLundgren,

I’ve found you can just add “ reddit” to a query and get the same result. I believe - but I’m trying to not do that. Haven’t browser Reddit in 2 weeks. Lemmy is good enough at the moment.

I made a tool that transfers your reddit subscriptions to lemmy, thought maybe you all might be interested (github.com)

One thing that annoyed me about moving to Lemmy was that I’d lose my subreddits and that looking for and joining communities on Lemmy would be tedious. So (logically) I spent 2 days writing a script, that gets a list of your subreddits from your reddit account and looks for communities with the same name on Lemmy. It also...

DolphLundgren,

Not to steal your thunder but the wefwef web app does this also, you just paste in your profile’s multireddit url and then it gives you a clickable list and each click searches Lemmy for all similar communities and then you can sub to any that you want.

DolphLundgren,

Certainly! I think it’s important that people innovate and it’s amazing when it’s helpful for others. Keep up the great work! 😀

DolphLundgren,

I’ve run my own business in the US for 16 years. Until recently I pay about $2000/mo for a family of 4. (Wife and I are in our early 40’s, kids are under 10). Recently my wife got new employment and it means we can insure the family with similar (slightly better coverage, (great coverage)) for less than half this amount.

Can someone still viewing Reddit explain how it is doing as of right now in terms of content quality and engagement? Akan

To someone who is subscribed to multiple communities on Reddit, has there been any change in their feed in their quality or amount of posts since July 1st? Any change in the amount of comments in the posts? Even the number of community subscribers?...

DolphLundgren,

I noticed I think just yesterday that r/pics was going full NSFW (tag) but didn’t see any nudity in posts.

Does anyone else hope the bulk of Reddit stays there?

I think my favorite thing about Lemmy is that it feels like Reddit used to. Less negativity, more engaged users (I think). I know it will be fun to watch Reddit die, but if I put spite aside what I’m really mad at Reddit about is more about what Reddit became and maybe part of that is when the general internet user started...

DolphLundgren,

Omg. I love Lemmy already. This is the hardest I’ve laughed at a post in a long time. Bravo.

DolphLundgren,

You nailed it. It’s the callbacks and inside jokes. That’s what makes it feel like “home”
