Yes, ich_iel mostly just takes English words and translates them 1:1. Doesn’t actually make sense in German, but that’s part of the joke. If you translate it back to English 1:1 again you should understand it perfectly.

As a native German speaker I often had to translate ich_iel memes 1:1 to English first to understand them myself. Its basically English but in German.

Well in cinemas I’m obviously silent because there are strangers. I just like to talk when watching movies together privatly.

I think its really nice when the movie is a total brainfuck to make theorys with friends. If you just want to sit there in total silence even in private situations you could just watch the movie alone.

What kind of friends do you have? I was able to explain my decision for privacy to my friends and they understood my choice. They still don’t care them self but no one is calling me weird names. They fully understand me. They are just to lazy to give up the luxury from google etc.

But maybe that’s because I’m from Germany. Here the concept of privacy is something most people like, at least in real life and in untechnical situations. I think they just don’t understand enough about tech to understand that it pretty much has the same importance as the Real Life when it comes to maintaining your privacy.

Anyways. I will probably join.

9 hours? Every day? Where? I work 8 hours and obviously only 5 days a week. I thought that’s the norm.

Issue with Samsung Odyssey G3 and squashed windows after a period of inactivity (i.imgur.com)

I have two screens, one of them is Samsung Odyssey G3. This model has some sort of “deep sleep”, it takes more time to wake one up after a period of inactivity (i.e. AFK). As a result, all windows that are placed on this screen are squashed. See the attached screenshot....
