Lower-fronted cars may cause more severe lower body injuries, but likely cause less severe injuries overall because the point of impact isn’t the torso (which is where humans keep a lot of their important bits and bobs).

I get where you’re coming from, but without context your point comes across as more of a “all cars are dangerous therefore we shouldn’t bother regulating oversized SUVs” rather than the “Yes SUVs are particularly dangerous but let’s keep in mind that all cars are dangerous” that you were aiming for.

The fact that this exists makes me so happy. I doubt I’d ever use a smart buttplug, but I’m oddly relived that those who want Bluetooth up their ass can do so using open-source software.

Vaguely conservative people love to claim that “you can’t joke about anything nowadays!!” but everytime I ask for an example it’s either completely banal stuff like this sketch, or it’s just straight up bigotry with the thinnest veneer of “a joke”.

Like, sorry that calling a trans woman a guy or saying weird shit about Muslims isn’t funny in 2023, but good god get some fucking actual material.

I prefer people posting the original source, and I’ll just let LibRedirect (on desktop) or LibreTube (on mobile) switch the link to my preferred Piped instance. I don’t want to use random instances.

I feel like most people who feel strongly against YouTube will have it set up similarly to where you automatically get redirected when clicking a link anyways. You can always offer up a Piped link in the text box or the comments as an alternative.

I prefer keeping original titles, but it’s so easy to add a couple lines of context in the text section of a post.

I know this is not how dbzer0 works, but can you help me get cs 1.6 working on my linux system ? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

I downloaded the game from soft32 (this file used to work on the old days). I installed both WINE and Lutris, but the game runs like sh**t. I get .NET and Vulkan errors from Lutris&WINE. Can you give me a newbie friendly guide for the right way? I’m tired of scrapping the web and it doesn’t help that I have limited data....

Have you tried jc141’s package of it?

It isn’t a direct link, it’s a link to a page where you can download a torrent file or get a magnet link. I thought this was allowed in this community? Maybe things have changed, in which case I’d gladly delete my comment.

I’m not here to argue semantics, I’m just going off what the instance admin posted, specially section 3;

Magnet Links and links to Torrent files are OK, unless we start getting into trouble for it.

If dbzer0 has started getting into trouble for it, I’ll gladly delete my comment.

From Real-Debrid’s help section:

You can use your account from any public IP address but you can’t use your account from more than one public IP address at the same time. If your devices are connected through the same router, they are getting only one public IP address and you can use as many devices you want.

So long as you’re not simultaneously connecting through two different IP addresses, you’re good.

It sounds ridiculous, but I always tell myself “What can you do when you live in a shoe? Move down the block, live in a sock.”

The absurdity of it helps me deal with the absurdity of the world.

I’m surprised I had to scroll down this far to see someone else mention TF2. I clock in at around 2019 hours, although probably around 500-600 of those are from idling (remember idling?!)

Last time I played was in 2019, and last time I played before that was also a couple of years. But for a while, Team Fortress 2 was my life. I eventually got into surfing, and poured SO many hours into that across TF2 and later CS:S.

If anyone who used to frequent Omega Arcade’s surf server on TF2 ends up reading this, Mr. Asplundh says hi! ☺️

Which gadget makes your life better?

For me, it's a bidet toilet seat. I bought one that didn't really fit as well as I hoped, so now I am shopping for a v2 based on experience. I don't want to live without one going forward. That's for sure.

I assume you meant to reply to the bidet comment. I assure you, you get used to it. Frankly it feels like my days don’t truly start until I get a blast of cold water up the ass.
