Now hopefully they start voting in their local elections for politicians who will build transit, bike lanes, and support walkability.

FireRetardant, to memes in I'm so good at time management that I hardly work at all

It don’t matter how organized I am, my boss sees I’m done by noon on a friday he’ll give me more service calls, shop time or some other job to do.

FireRetardant, to lemmyshitpost in Why is this so hard

Just buy reusable mesh bags and stop wasting plastic to protect your produce for a 20 minute car ride.

FireRetardant, to memes in Loyalty means nothing to a corporation

The worst part is, corporations treat their own employees with the no loyalty mindset. The idea of finding one good company and getting raises and a pension out of them is pretty much dead.

This feels shockingingly similar to how an AI could conclude to caring for humans. The humans are stimulated to be content by being in the matrix, their physical needs are met by the machines, no humans were “harmed” by the machine’s standards, and humans are for the most part unable to interfere with the machine’s decisions and goals.

You know what true freedom is? Not requiring a car to get to places by having decently designed neighbourhoods where people can walk or cycle. For longer distances good quality transit could be available. No massive investment or lisence needed to travel.

Make the small one legal to build in American markets.

FireRetardant, to fuck_cars in Yes, also Teslas

Since much of the noise pollution from cars comes from tire noise, I doubt EVs will reduce noise pollution that signifcantly.

FireRetardant, to fuck_cars in Vehicles with higher, more vertical front ends pose greater risk to pedestrians

This is defintely true but id still much rather get hit by a toyota corrola than by an f150, chevy tahoe or other 4+ foot high hood height vehicle.

Shorter hoods a person will roll onto the car, taller hoods push people under the car.

FireRetardant, to memes in Taking for granted

I was born into a family run company. Gave them 10 years of my life. The first few years I worked really hard and got a 2-3 dollar raise. Shortly after, minimim wage went up to 50 cents below what I was making. I did not get another raise until 2-3 years down the line. Regardless who your employer is, get treated fairly or leave for somewhere that will treat you fairly.

Are you saying you can’t snipe with a bolt action while sprinting?

FireRetardant, to fuck_cars in Yes, also Teslas

That is because many cities/politicians refuse to enforce reasonable noise limits on automobiles. It should have never been legal/normalized to have exhausts loud enough to need hearing protection while outside of the vehicle.

FireRetardant, to fuck_cars in Yes... pirated cars will definitely fix the problem

Remote start has been around for well over a decade and did not require internet or a subscription. If you just subscribe and use the feature then clearly the neccesary equipment for remote start is already installed and you paid for that equipment regardless if you use the subscription service.

Pretty sure that is unsafe in any truck if you are the driver.

As true as that is, video essays may reach a wider audience due to their visual component that can keep people interested. Most people would rather watch a video than read an essay or listen to one.

Most people who make video essay videos include relevant footage, graphs/charts and diagrams, not just them sitting there and reading.
