They are thrown out of the bar

I’m surprised you weren’t with that joke. speaking from experience, i love my lame jokes. (and I’m not totally stealing this one…not at all.)

it all comes down to delivery and timing. and maybe a healthy amount of booze.

Eh. Using Ubuntu is nothing like having a mental or physical handicap, or having fallen and gotten knocked down/pushed down.

My issue with Ubuntu is that there’s better distros- even for newbs coming from windows for the first time. The sole argument for Ubuntu is the first reason not to use it. People are installing it because they want something different than windows, after all, and canonical makes the same critical error (IMO) that MS makes: it assumes their users are stupid.

To be honest, I grew up in red hat; I remember trying Ubuntu when it first came out, being told how awesome it was. I found it to be infuriating and horrible. And it has always been so. To me, it’s popularity seems derived more from marketing than from merit.

I made a tool to make it trivial to time your turkey thawing. (turkeythaw.com)

I whipped this up today because I am always having to look it up and figure out when I am supposed to put my turkey from the Freezer to the Fridge. I plan to pretty it up over the next few days but hopefully this will be helpful to others (me too since I am cooking a turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year). I am open to...

Does this work with chickens?

Asking for a friend. (Honest. I’m supposed to be doing a big batch of chicken and dumplings for a thing. Either the chicken is bigger than I recalled or… I’m an idiot. It’s in water so we should be good,)

As a side note: do not fry even partially frozen turkeys. Or if you do… record it and post it to YT.

It’s more the kitchen appliances that I use aren’t the ones people bought as gifts… seriously that combined air fryer/pressure cooker/five-other-cooker-things is… annoying.

(I just have an instapot+slow cooker, immersion blender+blender+food processor that I have to hide from certain family, the absence of the “all in ones” would start a fight.)

Anybody brave enough to tell the MS rep this on patch night??

(You have backups, right?)

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

somebody needs to change the lede to

Analytical and Bio-analytical Chemistry- your society journal for rapid production and global viscosity on analytical research

just to raise even more eyebrows.

FuglyDuck,

I’m not sure most deadly animal is right, but they’re definitely top five. Mothers also supper protective of children and males are hyper territorial.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

They might look cute and cuddly, but hippos are freaking mean. And they hold grudges longer than a snubbed karen-in-law

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

Okay. But have you watched…

Sorry. I can’t think of tv shows I like that’s universally loved.

Actually, I can’t think of anything that’s universally loved.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

So… she’s trying to get her sister to watch firefly?

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

I mean, I love that show. It got screwed by idiots running episodes out of order and other odds and ends like that…

…and I’ll never forgive Netflix for that April fools “joke”…

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

Pretty sure bullfrogs will eat whatever it can get in it’s mouth.

Also, I’m pretty sure I have no idea what the difference between a toad and a frog.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

Pretty sure only monsters don’t like cat videos.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

I mean, yeah, that’s kinda the joke?

Though I personally- and without any real authority- divide the line based on how it behaves on a plate (well, hypothetically,)- if the stock/broth would stay clinging on the topping/filling/whateveritscalled rather than just spilling out and making a hypothetical mess…. It’s a stew

A lot of it is just months in the field to get that one shot. Maybe even years, and then splicing it together to make a fairly bullshit narrative

Though the Disney Alaska documentary…. With the running of the lemmings (white wilderness).

The scene where the lemmings were supposedly committing mass suicide? Yeah. They were flinging them off a turntable- like the kind used to spread fertilizer or salt.

Well. It did inspire a classic video game. But yeah. Lemmings do run- they just hop down, no suicide.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

Do you like eating…. Feces? Dirt? Dead bugs? Feces from dead bugs?

It isn’t just about the arsenic or the quality.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

That is one ugly fish.

I’d bet it fries up as good as any catfish….

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

I’ve had it a few times. it’s… not something I’d go out of my way to eat. unless grandma was cooking it.

…you don’t want to know how much lard was used in that recipe. Which is why hers is so… amazing. funny how that works. fwiw, most of the lard was actually for the pan…but still it’d probably be enough to give your doctor a heart attack.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

So somebody went and looked at its genetic structure, and compared its structure as it developed from larva and found that each of the limbs (if I understand it correctly) are all head (or heads,) and the tail disappears.

they talk about it here for normies like me. the starfish thing starts at 2:15

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

My joke?

No, it’s not original. Not even close. (Just search “ohm resisted” you’ll find plenty of them.

I dunno about the OP, though.

Heisenberg, Ohm and Schrodinger are in a car. They get pulled over. Heisenberg is driving, and the cop asks him, “Do you know how fast you were going?”

“No, but I know exactly where I am,” Heisenberg replies.

The cop says, “You were doing 55 in a 35.”

Heisenberg throws up his hands and shouts, “Great! Now I’m lost!”

The cop thinks this is suspicious and orders him to pop open the trunk. He checks it out and says, “Do you know you have a dead cat back here?”

“We do now, asshole!” shouts Schrodinger, getting belligerent.

The cop moves to arrest them. Ohm resists.
