Amazon lets you acquire physical items, of insane variety, delivered to your door, often for a price lower than you can find it in physical stores. Often delivered same day and almost certainly same week.

That’s an insane value compared to something like a game company that’s like “teehee you can pretend to own this until we get bored of hosting it and then poof fuck you!”

You physically choose to locomote towards the counter to make the purchase, you physically choose to lift the cup to your mouth.

Do you mean to suggest the company should hire folks who live closer, period? That is more logical

The operative task is minimize commute.

In most cases a car would be the fastest commute, even if you live close. (Assuming a non hyper dense urban environment)

If you can keep the roof over your head, the goal is to look at longer term earning.

This is a painful trap that keeps a lot of lower income and skill folks down, life forces them to take the short term earning to stay fed, thereby missing out on longer term opportunities

Pixel, googlepilled user here. I’m privacy conscious where I need to be (and those tasks happen on a Linux device with nothing connected to this phone) .

I’d love to go grapheneos but there’s a few things like gpay and phone swipe pay that I really value. If I could swap those out, I’d go and figure out replacements for the other g stuff.
