GBU_28,

And then there’s Edinburgh

Look up the tunnels, and the world’s end .

Regarding the first, homelessness was illegal, and you could be in a lot of trouble (including execution) for being out after curfew. People lived in catacombs and tunnels to avoid detection, and if they were half as bad as described, it was a hellish life.

The second, if I recall correctly, there was a tax to enter the city. Even for “citizens” going out for the day or whatever

So if you were desperately poor, you couldn’t even hunt for work outside the city without commiting to stay away until you could pay to reenter. So there became a trap where people were too poor to leave, too poor to get a legal residence, and had to find somewhere the guards wouldn’t hassle them.

I’m sure some of this is a bit different, but if it’s even close, it’s a brutal trap to be stuck in

GBU_28,

And a license to have a dog and a rebate for a year or more of medical care for them, for getting them spayed/neutered

75 perfect?

Well at least you have the right attitude the way our climate is headed

GBU_28,

Huh? Sql is one of the most powerful, action packed (as in you can move lots of shit with few commands) languages out there.

It’s transferable and ubiquitous.

GBU_28,

Disagree, the difference between “week structured” and needing to know the rules of the verbs is pretty big, to me.

GBU_28,

If I knew where you lived I’d shit on your lawn

GBU_28,

Yes the issue was about building the turret

Satellite GPS Messenger

My mom got me the spot gen 4 for Christmas. Im out in the middle of nowhere a lot of the time and am interested in having it for emergencies or communicating when I have no signal however I am not a fan of being tracked on the go. Is there anything to be concerned of with these type of products? Id say yes but I cant find...

GBU_28,

If you really need to be sure these things are silent, travel with them in an ammo can or similar.

But if you choose to do that, be sure to have your phone in there too, phones are far chattier than a GPS

GBU_28,

I’ve never taken a selfie but I do have some fish pics

GBU_28,

What about a billion which includes all billionaires

GBU_28,

Or as they would call it: their “reeducation chamber”

GBU_28,

Probably 90% over our whole species timespan

GBU_28,

Go after who you want, but the climate yacht has sailed. Drop it to zero tomorrow and we are still toast.

GBU_28,

No, the set would include them

GBU_28,

Let’s go for 2 now

What’s the dog whistle? It’s pretty on the nose, if you take it in that context

Edit also just did some reading, is black Egyptian hypothesis acceptable? It seems like rough cultural appropriation.

Damn it’s layers of bullshit

Double edit

Oh I see, most currently anti BLM racists painted all BLM rights advocates as black Egyptian hypothesis lunatics to discredit them, and we wiz kings is used as a slur to discredit any black folks looking to elevate their status by bucketing them into the conspiracy lot.

Humans are the worst, bring on the asteroids.

GBU_28,

We’re in hell now, why not format like it

GBU_28,

Objection stranger, you are very wrong and have fundamental issues! You’ll never get better.

GBU_28,

Smarter every day recently had a talk with NASA engineers where he said something that resonated with me.

“Its often discussed that if you could go back in time, you could change one thing, and observe a huge change in the following events.

But we never consider that we have that same power right now, today. Actions now can influence a wide variety of future outcomes.”

With some self reflection you can be the time traveler of scifi.

Some things are out of our control, but many are not, and simple changes, say, about our personal wellness or how we treat others can have big ramifications.

Except not at all? I’ve not seen any climate predictions saying the surface of earth will be a denuded hellscape, but only civilization will be destroyed. Humans will not be wiped out, they’ll just be living way worse. Resources will be challenging but will exist. Many will die, but not all. Biological life will shift massively but will exist.

A grey mush turns us into a surface like mercury, completely and utterly consumed.

Even in the worst climate predictions modern presenting societies will live.
