Hirom,

Twitter/X is such a cesspool. The end of nitter is an occasion to completely stop using Twitter, and instead go to the fediverse, subscribe to a newspaper.

Hirom,

I had to start using Google Messages recently because Signal dropped SMS support. It sounds like it’s time to switch SMS app yet again. Sigh.

Hirom,

That’s why cabin crew recommend always wearing the seat-belt during the flight.

Everyone assumed as much. But there is now confirmation that the next election won’t be free. It’s important to be able to point to specific actions and behavior when saying Russia isn’t a free country.

Hirom,

The commission said 29 people have so far filed to run for the presidency. But after today’s decision, Mr Putin remains the only candidate to be able to register as a candidate.

Not just this anti-war candidate. It appears all candidates are banned from challenging Putin.

Hirom,

Drinking a little isn’t necessarily an issue. It’s good to be mindful of quantities as you are.

The goal of Dry January is to either take a break or reduce consumption for a month, everyone can pick a goal. A periodic break helps manage consumption. People who participate often end up drinking less for the remainder of the year.

Hirom,

The bill has since been reworked to specify that it only applies to holy books from religions recognised in Denmark.

I guess it’s now more clearly defined to reference to religion recognized by Danish administrations.

This comes after an order to evacuate a city with >0.7 million inhabitants within 24h without preparation, with broken infrastructure and broken government, with a treat of invasion.

There’s no way this happen without panic, and without people being left behind.

I fear we’re going to hear more horrific stories as the dust settles.

Hirom,

It’s a bit light for a news story. It could have been a lengthier analysis on Twitter’s decline and spread of hate speech on the platform.

Hirom,

Algorithmic moderation was never going to be effective.

This isn’t what I would call news. The article provide no new substantive information, and it’s not significant enough to be world news.

It’s not even punditry. IMHO this fits in the “old man yell at clouds” category.

Multiple countries need to fix their inadequate regulations to stop aggravating antibiotics resistance, including:

Hirom,

Be aware that Middle East Monitor is rated “Factual reporting: Mixed” and strongly biased as it sometime use poor sources and use loaded words.

La Croix published an alaysis of this Isaiah Prophecy quote (french). They found it’s a poor and/or convoluted reference, and that article do not mention “Holy War” so this expression is most likely editorializing from the Middle East Monitor.
