You just gotta make an effort. The one who are too lazy will never be free of Microsoft’s clutches. Which probably just means pretty much everyone will stick to windows.
But installing via terminal is so much more convenient compared to those stupid windows installer. Not to mention you don’t have to download all those stupid installers again each time you want to update, unless the devs provide their own update mention in the software itself.
That’s weird. I have had zero issues with it so far (talking about distro specific issues) and I am running this with an AMD APU, Nvidia GPU, prime offloading on wayland. Works like an absolute charm. Though granted, this isn’t quite out of the box, you may not need to be a wizard to figure it out, but I would not recommended this to a noob.
Arch is great, but I’m too lazy to learn how to set it up. Once it’s running I think Arch is amazing. I just use Garuda Linux and love it. The Arch wiki is an amazing ressource.
I now have perfect wayland setup with a Nvidia GPU. I just use my AMD Apu as main gpu and the nvidia one as secondary GPU. The DE runs on Amd and games run on Nvidia. Thanks for nothing Nvidia, making me work around your bs.
Just yesterday I updated an 8bitdo controller’s firmware. I just keep a laptop with windows around for this sort of nonsense. And no, it’s one of the older ones that do not work with the android app, not that using the app is any better.
That’s not censorship. That is literally just capitalism. You usually don’t want your brand associated with Nazis, as that can be bad for business. Companies don’t have morals, but they care about money.
Was looking at how to set up snapper on Fedora 39 and came across the ever knowledgable Stephens tech talks video. It does balance, setting up snapper, sub-volume management in a really cool GUI tool....
Timeshift forces you to use a very specific layout of btrfs partitions or whatever those are called. On Fedora.for instance, unless you set them up manually, Timeshift will not work. Snapper isn’t so picky.
