Any Advice? Ubuntu on Panasonic Toughbook. (lemmy.world)

Hi everyone, Linux noob. I am installing Ubuntu on a Panasonic Toughbook CF-33. I was wondering if anyone had advice regarding drivers as the toughbooks have quite a few I/O ports, dual cameras, cellular antennas, and attached keyboard etc. Any advice is appreciated or even resources on where I could go to learn more about...

HurlingDurling,

Congratulations!

Now, decorate it with cool stickers!

HurlingDurling,

Actually, my kids political science book last year had a chapter on internet memes with some classics from 10 or so years ago

HurlingDurling,

Wait, genx was till 1980? Then, are Millenials since 1981?

HurlingDurling,

A towel over the windshield the night before instantly clears any ice or snow when you remove it. It’s faster than any scraping or product, and you don’t waste fuel warming up the car.

HurlingDurling,

So, this is something I’ve also wondered. My main use for a truck is pulling the camper to the mountain, but I’ve heard that putting premium fuel just before your trip will help you, but that does not make sense as premium fuel is less volatile because it’s meant for higher compression rates in more performance tuned engines.

HurlingDurling,

Same here, and the added benefit that you can throw whatever shit on the back without a real care of damaging it, and then just hosing it down. On an SUV or Minivan I would be making sure that everything was clean or carefully covered so not to spill on the carpet and shit.

HurlingDurling,

Authenticator Pro is awesome, FOSS, and allows you to backup your 2FA.

HurlingDurling,

Bleeding with leeches are also back in the menu

HurlingDurling,

So this has been reported for years now. We aren’t running out of antibiotics. We are running out of options like you said. The real reason is that doctors would prescribe stronger antibiotics than were needed. Also, people would stop taking the full course because they felt better before then, and lastly, farms give antibiotics to their animals just in case, so any bacteria that would survive any of these is allowed to reproduce and become resistant to antibiotics.

HurlingDurling,

Tried, but my lemmy instance won’t let me

HurlingDurling,

Good to know, but it would be even better if it just shuffled the playlist you are listening to instead amaright?

HurlingDurling,

HurlingDurling,

Headphones are great. You can’t work extra when you can’t hear

HurlingDurling,

There was a tornado in Florida 2 days ago right?

HurlingDurling,

We need this. I hate that the socialist are part of the Democrat party because the Democrat party is not a socialist party. We need our own socialist party.

On the flip side, splitting the Democrat party into two would absolutely guarantee the Republicans control the majority of everything tho.

CHROME (google) is planing to implement DRM (kinda) into their browser (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

looks like rendering adblockers extensions obsolete with manifest-v3 was not enough so now they try to implement DRM into the browser giving the ability to any website to refuse traffic to you if you don’t run a complaint browser ( cough…firefox )...

HurlingDurling,

Users like visiting websites that are expensive to create and maintain, but they often want or need to do it without paying directly. These websites fund themselves with ads, but the advertisers can only afford to pay for humans to see the ads, rather than robots.

Won’t you think of the poor poor ad companies?
