Imgonnatrythis,

Yup. I love a good microwaved samosa or Chana masala and it’s easier than grilling a frozen chemical burger frankly. I don’t think convenience is a fair argument here. Microwaved Chana is nowhere as good as a freshly made 3hour dish, don’t get me wrong, but there are convenience options that aren’t vegan chicken nuggets.

Imgonnatrythis,

Have you ever heard the phrase, “you can’t negotiate with terrorists?” Turns out it’s true.

Imgonnatrythis,

I mean, I guess you can try, but you’re going to be dissapointed every single time. 10/10 don’t recommend.

Imgonnatrythis,

Lords work honey. You’re doing the Lords work .

Imgonnatrythis,

Not sure why you are having trouble finding support or what anal tugging even is, but looking at Americans at least. They get a new car. On average every 6 to 8 years. A decently maintained car will easily last 11-14 years. If you are finding a better explanation that genralizes than what I described to explain this gap I’d love to hear it

Imgonnatrythis,

Try looking it up. That might help

Imgonnatrythis,

I can’t even. Where are you getting that data? Unless the average person is driving a bmw they don’t start running into any kind of serious issues until 11-14years. Anything sooner than that is typically easily fixed and much cheaper than buying a new car. I don’t understand why people here don’t realize there is a huge push by advertisers and American culture to buy new cars well before they are needed. People want new cars >> than they need new cars. I’m not fabricating that. Even in a recession yes this mentality remains strong. If that’s important for you go for it I guess and yes of course buy electric or hybrid if you can. If you really want to make a carbon footprint dent though, hold off on buying a new car for a few years and with decent maintenance and minor repairs you will save yourself money and save the environment. Jesus

Imgonnatrythis,

I’m assuming nothing now other than this sub must be overrun by car salespeople. You all are insufferable. The average age of a used car being bought is 6years old, not 11-14. Also, no one is taking issue with the carbon footprint of buying used cars. That’s not the point of this post. Buying and maintaining a used car is a wonderfully conservative practice. People aren’t buying used electric cars (by and large). The point here the OP is making is that it’s better from a carbon footprint standpoint to not trade up to an electric (typically new car) than to keep an existing ICE car at least until it nears end of life. That is a factually accurate statement that all of you car sales people apparently are upset about.

Imgonnatrythis,

Makes Me think when are phone manufacturers going to focus less on a few more pixels on the camera and make a phone rugged enough that for routine daily use it doesn’t need a damn case? I’ve never liked cases but now so many phones have Cameras that stick out such that the only way to get them to even sit flat is to level them off with a case. Just make the battery a little bigger and thicken the backing of the actual phone! Also raise the titanium bezel just 1mm and the glass is much less likely to ever make direct impact.

Imgonnatrythis,

Face-palm. We can’t have nice things.

Imgonnatrythis,

I bet if I stopped wearing my helmet at work people would assume I’m faster too, but they probably wouldn’t be as nice to me.

Imgonnatrythis,

Yeah but you could still screw with the software, limit updates, use cheap chips, and shame customers to make sure we all continue to throw our phones in the landfill every couple of years, but I would buy the phone that at least I won’t worry about breaking tomorrow. Phone case culture just seems so silly to me.

Imgonnatrythis,

Curious why this wasn’t /lemmyshitpost instead?

Imgonnatrythis,

I’m just saving some blood boys for the future.

Imgonnatrythis,

You sound like a bit of a connoisseur. Did you perhaps minor in flatuent psychology?

Imgonnatrythis,

I think that people that don’t find farts funny are fakers or have brain damage. It’s pretty much a reflex to trigger the funny center of the brain.

Imgonnatrythis,

Microsoft is the biggest offender of this. Use edge browser at work because have to and this don’t show again for password saving never does a damn thing. Why admins in a workplace would ever even allow option of password saving is beyond me as it seems like a risky move.

Imgonnatrythis,

Ninja Gaiden (original). I’m looking at you!

Imgonnatrythis,

As hard as it can be to get tables at some places, I’m surprised there isn’t a sort of black market app for selling / trading reservations.

Imgonnatrythis,

I blame my hemorrhoid on trying this too damn hard.

Imgonnatrythis,

More specific? Some coms seem pretty aggressive about this and unlike reddit you don’t really get a notice. I do think mods should have to send an explanation when they remove a post unless it’s a repeat violation of the same rule.
