I’ve been reading the Honor Harrington book series from my local library system but I noticed them on sale in Amazon. The Kindle versions of the books are “DRM-Free at the request of the author”. That right there convinced me to buy the books.
A way to “tip” the authors anonymously would be a great addition.
Cultural differences always trip me. I spent most of my middle/high school years in the Caribbean and the attitude among guys was that the first orgasm didn’t count and was in fact just the start of the session. There was almost a hurry to “pop” the first one so the real fun could begin.
EDIT: It looks like I misunderstood the comment. Derp.
In the most technical terms, yes. The idea is not new or bizarre, but I see the same missteps repeated. For starters, the venture HAS to be a nonprofit with zero need for monetization. It will also need an inviting and easy to navigate user interface, accessible to the most nontechnical of users. You need to have a massive document library from multiple large players from day one, so you need to have a lot of contacts.
As I said it’s not fully cooked, but I have spoken to a few people that could help me make it happen and they seemed open to it.
Older dude here that has battled a flood of constant bullshit since a very young age, PTSD from said trauma, and chronic depression since 1989. Humans are crazy resilient. Every time we face and survive some shit, our suffering threshold gets pushed further out until it starts to take some seriously fucked up shit to even phase us. We are a vicious, nasty, and very fucking tough species. Things won’t get better…you will.
Depending on what you want to play, you might not even have to resort to piracy. Boardgamegeek.com has an incredible amount of free print-n-play games.
I do a lot of PDF work which requires edits, encryption, etc. Unfortunately the only solution I found that worked for me was a paid one. I use Code Industry’s Master PDF Editor.
I’ve been annoying? I’VE BEEN ANNOYING?!? I take offense of your liberal use of the past tense, Captain.
I hear ya though. I guess I’ve been lucky in my interactions, but the memes make it seem like it’s constant and ever present with vegans, and that doesn’t match with my experience outside of the Internet.
