How can you be sure it doesn’t eliminate positions?
Did you miss the very first sentence of my comment? They haven’t had a dedicated cashier position for a long time. Until that kiosk can also make the food, nobody is losing their job to it.
They haven’t had dedicated cashiers for years. These allow them to spend more time making food and less time dealing with taking orders and handling cash. That’s it. If anything, it makes the employees’ jobs easier without eliminating positions. Speaking as someone who worked at a McDonald’s before that has had these kiosks for years now.
I live in the US. Sex, even just plain boring vanilla sex, is such a taboo topic. Everyone’s uncomfortable about it, and that sucks. I think it’s interesting, and fun, and there’s so many things to talk about from actual activities to social constructs and more.
Whenever it comes up, I nerd out the same way I would when talking about a game I am currently obsessing over.
I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, so I’ve always thought it would be kick ass if I could upload my conciousness to the net and become an immortal living meme.
My dad used to work for a company that made wafers and would always go to SemiCon every year. Took me once. Didn’t know shit about printing wafers, but it was still cool.
I just prefer sorting options that don’t weigh posts. Like New or New Comments. I don’t have nearly as many similar posts appearing on the front page sorting by New Comments, and only posts with high levels of discussion stay on the FP.
If you’re going to sort by things that count all metrics to determine what’s “popular,” it’s always going to be memes and low effort bullshit.
When I figure it out, I’ll let you know. It’ll have been literally 20 years this August since I graduated and I still don’t know what job I want. Got a big long list of jobs I’ve tried that I don’t want tho.
I agree with that last part; but why would someone be trying to get my text messages in the first place? There’s nothing there. I’m not holding any secrets of value to anyone for any reason. So there’s no reason for me to have crazy levels of security.
The only time I ever would’ve preferred silence to some background noise was when I was at a scout camp along the banks of a river and the cacophony of frogs and crickets at night was super fucking loud. I barely slept the whole time I was there.
Other than that, I always put on some kind of ambient sounds or yoga music.
