Snap sucks, but not for the reason OP stated. There's a decillion reasons for why Snaps suck, why make up a reason that applies to other formats that are actually good?

that's not "t", it's "\t" which is just a tab. There's also "\n" for newline.

That would be weird if a string containing a space wasn't equal to 0 " " == 0, but that's not the case in JS. If you think that "" and " " being equal to 0 is weird then I agree, but since they are, you should expect "t" and "n" to equal 0 too.

If " " wasn't equal to 0, it wouldn't make sense, but since a string containing a space equals 0, you'd expect the same to apply to a string containing a tab or a newline. (or at least I'd expect that)

Yes, it would. Just like a string of spaces " " == 0, but it isn't that bad; === is Javascript's version of == in other languages, and, thus, you should be using it if you don't want that wonkiness.

== is just for convenience, like when you want to make sure that the user didn't leave the form empty and the button shouldn't be greyed out, and other UI stuff. Without these kinds of features JS wouldn't be used in so many toolkits.

The site itself; Facebook, Reddit, or Twitter sends you to a subdomain that then redirects you to the link you clicked. Sometimes used to check the url and warn you if it's malicious or if it's linking to another website, but it's usually used for tracking as well.

Flatpaks have the concept of runtimes; instead of downloading the entire qt tooling for a qt app the app could just use the KDE runtime same goes for GTK with the Gnome runtime. Flatpaks also have dependencies which can be shared between multiple apps even when they are not part of their runtimes, they are called "baseapps". Flatpak apps still use double the space my normal apps take on a fresh install, so I assume using appimages to replace them will leave no space on my SSD.

Before deciding to settle on using Flatpak I tried to search for appimage permissions and how to set them, but it seems there is no such thing? If that's true then there's another advantage for Flatpaks and Snaps.

Also with all due respect: Flatpak and Snap tooling are not maintained by Probonodb.

I just added it because the current answer (jiggle) is a Gnome shell extension. So this is just my answer for Plasma.

KDE Plasma has a desktop effect called "Track Mouse" after you activate it you can use it by pressing Ctrl+Meta. It doesn't look like the MacOS variant, but it does the job.

This isn't about truth or facts. If something major happens in Russia or related to it and the president doesn't show up to talk about it, that would raise eyebrows. Now imagine that happening over and over again. Putin dying would be the perfect opportunity for the US to start swaying Russia into a civil war. They definitely don't want the president's chair to be empty and contested for.

The most useful thing to them will always be to shove anyone atop that chair before the US notices.

Unfortunately not every app follows that convention. A lot of them just dump config files into your home directory, including Firefox.

There's a script called XDG-Ninja that can list some of the apps that do that. You can probably get it from the AUR

Not on Windows, if that's what you're expecting. I've got a panel on top, and a dock that shows running applications and the five most used apps to the right. Both auto hide.

It's actually surprising that Hamas didn't get more votes in the election, when the other option was getting ruled by Fatah. Who would want the enemy's puppet governing them?

That's not as bad as 17years of starvation and oppression.

Ukraine is very organized compared to Hamas; they have an actual government that's allowed to function and can instruct it's troops.

If Russia was surrounding Ukraine while the US wasn't giving aid to them, the Ukrainian government would either not exist, or become a "terrorist group" that's divided into a dozen militants that are barely organized. An attack formed by this group would be devastating to Russian civilians, because even if the head of this organization intends on not hurting civilians, will the militant groups that are mostly comprised of radicalized Ukrainians looking for revenge care?

Thats something completely different. If Ukraine did or does war crimes, they should be condemned.

Ukraine should start committing war crimes, maybe that would get them more US support.

but if Hamas was vocal about not stooping to Israel’s civilian-killing level, and did major damage to a political building without harming anyone, that could have given Palestinians more sympathy on the world stage.

How? their rockets barely do anything. The only way for them to do damage is a ground invasion, and for that to happen they'd need the help of radicalized Gazans, and those Gazans will 100% do harm to civilians.

Plus "sympathy on the world stage" isn't worth two Qasam rockets.

Even if it’s the thing that “must be done for survival”, it’s really hard to be on the side of innocent killing. I personally can’t be on either side of this conflict, and many feel the same.

It doesn't matter, if you're a citizen of the US or Europe, then you're automatically assigned to the occupation terrorists side by your government. Hamas wasn't looking for your support, because you can do nothing, only your glorious supreme leader can.

If the purpose of the comment is to show that the occupation is being merciful by not wiping out Palestine, then you might be ignoring that they're doing just that.

Just look at how much space settlements are taking up in the West bank. They're just doing it more slowly because they'll have useful agents like you to defend them after Palestinians inevitably resort to violence.

The US wouldn't even condemn the building of these settlements, even though their condemnation would do absolutely nothing.

Yea lets commit war crimes, who doesn’t want to live in such a world.
