I never have any response that’s likely to be edifying or helpful, so I typically respond with, “Well, I don’t,” and try to disengage. That’s usually enough.
A few times when I first started engaging in multiplayer stuff, I forgot to unequip the Ring of the Pale Order which prevents being healed. Oopsie daisie.
“You’ve got to love him – he’s your brother, after all.”
Yeah, he’s my brother who would get angry and destroy all my things when we were young, my brother who sexually abused my youngest sibling, my brother who launched into a homophobic rant against my mom during a time when she had cancer, a brother who cheated on and verbally and physically abused his first wife, a brother who probably drove my nephew to suicide.
I’ve actually played around in the settings after someone pointed out the magnifier that’s hidden in there, which has been a blessing for reading those evil sites that use code to disable the “force pinch to zoom” accessibility feature in my browser. (I have impaired vision.) There are definitely some settings in accessibility that are way beyond my needs though lol
If you grow up in the US, it’s pretty hard not to be racist because the entire culture and history is steeped in racism.
It’s taken willful self-reflection to recognize some things I say or do that are implicitly racist. If we just went about chanting, “I’m not racist,” we’d never be able to grow and improve.
