Lmaydev, 1 year ago to linux in Why do you use the terminal? Yeah I use WSL a huge amount of my work. Azure for instance is much easier to work with in the console than the website. Then there’s grep!

Lmaydev, 1 year ago to linux in I feel like breaking my windows install was a rite of passage Good job. It’s a great feeling when things finally click. Unfortunately stuff like this is exactly what is holding Linux back from mainstream adoption.

Lmaydev, 1 year ago to linux in Linus Torvalds on the state of Linux today and how AI figures in its future Given it’s an artificial intelligence it stands to reason its understanding and knowledge are artificial. I don’t think there’s any relevance pointing that out anymore. No one thinks it’s conscious or a general AI. I also don’t see how it’s massively different to our ability to parse and output text tbh.

Lmaydev, 1 year ago to asklemmy in Do you think Federated networks are the future or do you think Peer to Peer networks are the future? Which do you think is better? Yeah I have serious concerns about how it will scale. Luckily storage is the cheapest thing generally. Maybe down the line they can start using varying degrees of cold storage for older content. Cheaper to store but more expansive to access.
