Moghul,

Can’t speak about the rest but

C2077 ran like a slog at best, if it even started, so I never bothered again.

Works fine on my 3070. Actually worked on release too. I’m on medium-high graphics 60fps in 4k.

Moghul,

I mean, then it’s not really linux, is it?

As for the card, I bought it before it became apparent how overpriced it was, and it was a major upgrade from my second hand 970 anyway. And I didn’t splurge, I saved and bought what I thought made sense for me, when I could’ve ‘splurged’ on a 3080.

Moghul,

ITT: People getting mad for saying a 3 generations, 4 year old low end gpu is the issue

Moghul,

I had a whole thing written out but I just don’t feel like arguing about this

Moghul,

To my knowledge, hobbit holes have none of those amenities. You can make one of these in a city or suburb if you can get the permit, it’ll just be a strange looking house. That’s not how I interpreted the post.

Moghul,

The message seems to give you at least what it thinks the solution to the problem is:

apt install nvidia-driver-libs:i386

Moghul,

I remember playing with a wire controlled car when I was about 3. It was a battery powered f1 style red car and it had yellow bumper wheels on the corners to allow it to not get stuck when it hit a wall. It had a ‘remote’ that was connected to the car by a short cable. It had 2 buttons, one to go forwards and one to go backwards. It could go straight backwards but it would go in a circle forwards. It had been a gift from my aunt and uncle and my father stepped on it to break it because it bothered him.

Second memory, I’m walking into the yard on a summer evening. I open the gate, look up, and then towards the entrance door. The fence is green but the paint is chipping because it crumbles under my fingers. The sky is all sunset colors; blue, purple, orange, and the sun is blocked by the great big apricot tree between the house and the garage.

Moghul,

Are they wider than Danish 5dkk coins? They have a fairly nice design and a hole in the middle.

Moghul, (edited )

I think I’ve written 3-4 different comments over the last 15 minutes here, and I don’t know what the right thing to answer is, but I loathe to leave you hanging. To put things shortly, and not get too rambly, what little future I can see is shaky, and I hate the song & dance of the holidays. I need some time for R&R, and a change of pace from my daily life.

Thanks for asking.

Moghul,

Does a bag of holding count?

Moghul,

Not to mention the ease of carry. No heavy backpacks or unwieldy suitcases.

Moghul,

It was definitely badass, an excellent ‘inscrutable monster’ type of foe.

I’ll say though, the droplet was so far ahead of humanity that it didn’t matter what they were prepared for. The droplet could’ve just as easily been a guided projectile (which it was) and it wouldn’t have made a difference.

Moghul,

I do already keep herbs going as much as possible! (though I don’t do it from seed, lazy bum)

The community garden idea is great, but the ones in the city center here are… expensive and quite “hipsterish”.

Moghul,

Thanks, you too!

Moghul,

Idk, I’m on an entirely different continent, never been

Moghul,

I googled it for you and it seems like walmart sells them.

@asklemmy

Is it possible to set up a virtual sandbox environment of an exact copy of Earth's financial system and let an AI "handle it" for years?

Wonder what the outcome would be.

Moghul,

I think people try to make prediction models all the time, but if it really worked I feel like it would become quite obvious when someone basically never misses.

If it’s just a matter of running a simulation to see how far they diverge, I’m not sure what kind of insights you could gain from that. I think it would be a bit like running a weather simulation for years. Very soon after (likely a matter of days), unpredictable events would fork reality from the simulation, and they would only diverge further.

To answer the question, it might be possible to set up an imperfect, incomplete simulation.

Moghul,

There’s just straight up lactose free real milk. It’s milk with the enzyme we don’t have, already in it.
