Had two of exactly the same USB sticks. Used one as live stick (with home on stick) and tried to compile Firefox. Could only read from it after that. To rescue the data, i created an image and pushed it to the other stick. This one now crashes something in udev reproductively, still don’t know how.

You are talking about advertising business, you know? They do business as long and as far as it isn’t yet illegal.

At least tracking via ultrasonic is a thing. calculator/game just needs to have the respective library.

Btw, store chains use Wifi/Bt for tracking, just so you know.

Data points in the range of Gigabytes (uncompressed), the rest is unoptimized textures and models, duplications and other bullshit. Bet you could get 10 or so fps more, if they invested a few days for optimzations.

Planet crafter needs, with one big map, 3GB disk space and loads from menu in 1 second. Just for comparison.

Do deduplicating filesystems do bit-level deduplication? Wouldn’t change unoptimized media, but still curious, what the difference would be.

A crash in the window manager takes down all running applications: Yes, because the compositor IS the server, window manager AND compositor at the same time.

I still would have preffered a modular approach, where compositor, window manager, server/mouse+keyboard are plugable. Well, it’s probably possible with Wayland, but the ecosystem is not there yet.
