MotoAsh, to lemmyshitpost in This was actually a thing btw

Yea, I don’t envy their situation for sure. Just that it didn’t necessarily have to start from malice. As you point out, it may not have even been malice from the thieves, maybe even if they were literally stealing.

Coming from a punitive place will always miss intention.

MotoAsh, to lemmyshitpost in This was actually a thing btw

I think it was more of, “hey, who the hell is suddenly robbing us?!”

They didn’t have the internet and daily news to tip everyone off. There’d just suddenly be stranded people near by, and if they decided to pillage before asking… I could EASILY see being hostile as a reasonable response. Not necessarily the KoS law, unless they really did just resort to pillaging and theft often.

MotoAsh, to lemmyshitpost in Literally a virus

The defensive comments are hilarious. Hitting a little too close to home, pathogens? lol

MotoAsh, to memes in The system is broken

Yes, everything sounds stupid when you boil it down to nothing and then conflate it all together.

Read more. Talk less. For your own good.

No, it is syntactically unnecessary.

I understand your point, and agree when it comes to programming with things like scope, typing, semicolons, etc, etc… Many concepts are easier to learn when enforced through syntax.

Though if someone gets cofused on the transitive nature of multiplication with a single simple equation … They aren’t learning math.

MotoAsh, to memes in Democracy

Yea, it was to spread “democracy”, duh.

MotoAsh, to lemmyshitpost in Goodbye MatPat, thanks for everything

What? Weren’t older millenials in their 20’s when Blue’s Clue’s ended?

MotoAsh, to linux in Why is Gnome fractional scaling 1.7518248558044434 instead of 1.75?

To get to 0.01 error, you’d need to add up trillions of trillions of floating point errors. It will not happen solely because of floating point unless you’re doing such crazy math that you shouldn’t be using primitives in the first place.

MotoAsh, to memes in He's ready for anything

So you’re nothing but a dumb animal? No ambition or desire or ability to plan past the next meal?

What a pathetic existence.

MotoAsh, (edited ) to memes in He's ready for anything

I literally HAVE gone through what they have. I’ve grown up and lived in red states almost my entire life, but thank you for assuming my experience.

Again, stop infantalizing them. They are grown-ass adults PRETENDING to be victims of things that aren’t even victimizing them. They are pathetic losers taking the bait.

If you’re a fish, taking the bait means you die. If you’re a fascist, taking the bait means the “other” dies. They are not worth the pity you are giving them.

MotoAsh, (edited ) to memes in He's ready for anything

You can choose how you respond to a situation. It is ABSOLUTELY their fault. It will never not be their fault (those who supported, not merely lived through it).

Stop infantalizing people. Are humans not special in conservatives’ belief? Are we not better than dumb animals? Then why are you using the excuse that they were a cornered beast?

Fucking pathetic.

MotoAsh, to memes in He's ready for anything

I’ve gotten fucked at every step of my life by capitalists and other greedy fuckheads, and it hasn’t made me fascist and I didn’t and never will vote for Trump.

Some people are just pathetic and want someone else to solve their problems. Some people are just stupid and cannot see how their problems will never be solved by a greedy asshole getting more power.

Some people are just terrible and will look down on others for merely existing. That doesn’t make them evil. It makes them FUNCTIONALLY evil. A hand does not need to know why in order to strangle someone.

MotoAsh, to lemmyshitpost in The more you know

Clarification of what? The joke doesn’t need them and neither does the math.

MotoAsh, to linux in Why is Gnome fractional scaling 1.7518248558044434 instead of 1.75?

Floating point error? Yeaahhh no. No. Just… no. That is NEVER as big as 0.01 unless the number is also insanely massive.

The error is relative in scale. It’s not magically significant fractions off.

MotoAsh, to memes in He's ready for anything

If grandpa’s still voting R, he’s voting for the fascists of the 21st century.

If you want to know what you would’ve done living in Germany in the 1930’s…
