GOP voters choosing a President

This is the best of the whole thread. 🏆

Mouselemming, to asklemmy in No politics inteded: Why isn't Trump after leaving office in any way or shape involved in politics say as member of congress or senate?

Here’s an article to give you a little more context historically :

pewresearch.org/…/few-former-presidents-have-run-…

But the answer to your question is probably found in the fact that Trump never ran for any other office, much less served. (I could argue he never served as president either, he only took and had others serve him, but that would be bringing “politics” into it.) He ran as an “Outsider,” who was unstained by the inevitable compromises of working with others, who was going to run the country like a business. He did. If you look at how he ran his business affairs, it’s pretty consistent with his presidency.

He’s got a lot of power still in the Republican Party, without having to spend any time working on legislation or living in DC.

Mouselemming, to maliciouscompliance in [REPOST] Woman says she started wearing ‘terrible wigs’ after work banned her pink hair

“More professional looking” has historically been used to justify racism and sexism.

Looking like a professional means looking like the person who knows how to do this job, whatever it is. Professionals come in all sizes, shapes, and colors. If I have a different mental image of “looking like a professional plumber” to “looking like a professional nurse” to “looking like a professional accountant,” that’s my bias and shouldn’t dictate who can be those things. Nor how they can wear their hair except for safety.

It’s not like she’s unclean, or doing her job poorly, or harassing the customers.

Mouselemming, (edited ) to asklemmy in Question for legal folks: Travel based abortion restrictions

California is a lovely state with many reasons to visit. If a person who happens to be pregnant comes to Los Angeles, she could go camping, skiing, surfing, tour stars’ homes or Disneyland or Hogwarts… And she could get a safe legal abortion. Or the pregnancy could spontaneously miscarry in a hotel room or on the side of a mountain, who knows?

When she goes home no longer pregnant, it’s nobody’s fucking business.

Or she could not go home, and start a new life in a place that respects her.

Edit: feel free to go back and change all the "she"s to "they"s because a pregnant trans man would deserve all the same rights and safe medical care.

Mouselemming, to memes in What's up, my fellow trees?

I live in LA and to be fair, palm trees are basically fake trees in the first place, they’re mostly non-native Q-Tips that give no shade. The cell towers should just cover themselves with billboards, they’d fit right in and make extra cash from the side hustle.

Considering the baby is probably in her 20s by now, probably less equipment then, but you make a good point.

It’s also a little like people giving God the credit when it’s Humans and Science and Medical Intervention that performed the miracle.

Mouselemming, to memes in Skirts are breezy and comfortable. Fuck off.

The great thing about skirts is that they can be breezy even when they’re long! So if you’re not comfortable with everyone looking at your legs, or can’t be bothered trying to sit without showing your crotch, get a nice sweepy skirt that comes to your ankles and Stride! Sprawl! Swagger and Swash! Shwing!

Seems to me the Orcas have started, and I think we should send them more billionaires in yachts.

“Mommy I fwowed up”

“Kitty pooped in my bed”

"I fink I’m gonna - BLARGH! (vomit all over both of us)

“By dose is bleedig”

“Bomby - ACHOO!” (snot all over both our faces)

These are a few of my own experiences with my kids’ bodily fluids. Totally gross, but I did not mean what you were thinking.
