Norgur,

Well, DS9 it is then. I know it's hard to survive the first two seasons, but it'll be worth it.

Norgur,

You have already rewatched VOY, DS9 and TNG more than seven times, right?

Norgur,

Our phones aren't bad at reception, you are holding them wrong

Norgur,

I vividly remember when a friend of mine who runs a small graphic design studio was sent an archive file macOS couldn't open natively and asked me for help. Never having used a Mac and without any clue as to which tools the stupid app shop (which was rather new at the time) held, I couldn't for the life.of me get the blasted thing to obey me, until I found a terminal. I then installed build utils and compiled the frickin' unpacker I needed myself since it only had Linux binaries. Worked like a charm.

Aww, look at you! Who can blow like the big fans? Who can blow like the big fans?

Norgur,

Well, Lemmy is really not good at pushing new content/new posts and/or new communities to people. For many of us, that might be a boon: less algorithmic shenanigans, less "steering" of the user. Yet, if you are not a user who likes to actively seak out stuff, your feeds will look stale and slow-paced very quickly. There might be new stuff,.but the feeds struggle to find a middle ground between "only the upvoted stiff you subscribed to", "the always same server wide top posts" and "bleeding edge new stuff". It's also very reluctant to sprinkle on new communities.

I think that's a main contributor to the decline.

For the record: kbin is more liberal when it comes to that sort of stuff. So if you like a more active feed, you might want to try kbin. If you like your feed to be controlled by you more, use Lemmy.

Norgur,

Starship running on mushrooms? Yeah, why not
The mushrooms are some omnipresent thing connecting all space and time together and giving some special super powers somehow? The force stolen you have. Integration of science fantasy into science fiction unasked for was.

"you want a rhyme meter with that? Because your lines severely lack it."

Norgur,

The last appearance of "Keck" I came across:

wird ab acht wieder keck das Dach gedeckt.

Norgur,

Is it just me or does the water of these always taste disgusting? Tap water is so much better where I live.

Norgur,

Most of them have an overly rusty, slightly bitter taste I really dislike. Same goes for many mineral waters.

Norgur,

That's why it had an aeroplane, duh!

Norgur,

Or Windows Server for the pretentious rich kid clouds where nobody has the slightest clue but enough money to throw at the problem.

Norgur,

That's definetly one of the possibilities. I never had a relationship with a movie star who did such scenes, so I wouldn't know.

Norgur, (edited )

I'm not suggesting that they might assume any of the acted scene had real feelings behind it. Yet still, visually seeing your SO seemingly doing intimate stuff will make you feel something. You might not be jealous or anything, yet still. That has nothing to do with insecurity. You can feel awkward without jealousy, can't you?

Norgur,

Be as secure as you will, if you see your SO in a romance scene in a typical hig h profile movie with all the right camera angles and music and all... it's bound to do at least something to you, right?

Norgur,

First if all: that is exactly how you treat addicts. https://harmreductionjournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12954-019-0340-4

Secondly: no, we don't have evidence that this might decrease the danger for pedophiles to act on their desires, since the technology is rather new.

Of course we should not enable urges like that. Yet, we have to be realistic: there will always be those that can't be treated. Do you want those who cannot be stopped from indulging in their desires to do so on children's images by real, abused children, or do you want them to vent on made up images?

Norgur,

That's not picky about wording.
While I agree that stuff like that should not exist at all in no way whatsoever, there is a vast difference between it existing because someone abused a child, recorded that and thus scarred the child for life, or if someone made a computer make up pixels in a way that is disgusting.

Norgur,

The uniform... Is that another blue dress black stripes/white dress gold stripes situation?
