martinbasic, How can I get these fans?
hactar42,
dipshit, (for nano ITX builds)
ODuffer, A fan for 🐜🐜🐜
MadMadBunny, We’re gonna need a banana for scale
don, Holy shit those fingers are gigantic
bappity, (edited ) “yeah I have like 10 case fans”
^ the case fans
DessertStorms, 10/10, would wear on a necklace/earrings.
Taleya, (edited ) Runs at 15,00000 rpm and produces the same db as a lawnmower
edgemaster72, And at such a high pitch you could’ve sworn it would be beyond the range you can hear but nope, there it is, piercing your eardrums
AI_toothbrush, It has 14000 times less airflow than a noctua fan iirc. link on mouser
Treczoks, According to the data sheet, it has 17400RPM, which is 290RPS, times 11 fan blades (if I counted correctly), so it would probably run with a 3190Hz sound. The noise is actually not that loud, given as 25dB(A) at 30cm.
While it is not overly loud, a proper case design that alleviates the annoying frequency by filtering it would be a good idea.
gens, That’s close to the frequency we perceive as the loudest, so adding ~5dB would be fair. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equal-loudness_contour It’s also a very anoying frequency.
Treczoks, Well, it more depends on the overall spectrum - and a good sound designer. I've seen miracles done with air vents filtering out frequency ranges, but that's some voodoo level stuff in my eyes.
Norgur, (edited ) Aww, look at you! Who can blow like the big fans? Who can blow like the big fans?
