OprahsedCreature,

It is difficult for me to imagine what “personal liberty” is enjoyed by an unemployed person, who goes about hungry, and cannot find employment.

OprahsedCreature,

Didn’t the United States consider the Taliban terrorists? Did that stop them from negotiating a retreat from Afghanistan? America sure seems to believe you can negotiate with terrorists.

OprahsedCreature,

What America considers “terrorists” are often the least problematic of their associations. Let’s not forget how South Korea used to be ruled by a series of dictators, or the installation of Pinochet, or the South Vietnamese dictators.

OprahsedCreature,

Hard to notice something when you close your eyes and plug your ears

OprahsedCreature,

Incumbency advantage persists. Swapping to a new candidate would likely be worse, even if the candidate is better, purely based on electoralism.

I’m sure many people will be comforted by that when he loses.

Yes, the dems do nothing. This is better than Republicans, who do a lot of bad shit.

Read up on the Ratchet Effect.

What fixes issues is grassroots praxis.

I too, like vague undefined concepts that obfuscate real potential solutions.

OprahsedCreature,

Guess if Dems didn’t want that they’d give another candidate a genuine shot, but ol’ Genocide Joe needs his legacy. This’ll be it.

OprahsedCreature,

any new candidate would get absolutely swept by Trump

The current candidate will get swept by Trump. Or have the polls changed recently?

OprahsedCreature,

Incumbency advantage is too critical to give up.

At this point, what advantage? He’s been polling worse than Trump. He’s more of an anchor than an engine now.

That being said, voting harder won’t ever move America to the left, that has to be done at the grassroots level.

With Dems there’s always an excuse to do nothing and hope really hard for vague change later.

OprahsedCreature,

is there a Linus 2?

There was but Carmen Ortiz took care of that little problem, if you know what I mean 😉

OprahsedCreature,

The ones about how America will fight Russia to the last Ukrainian?

OprahsedCreature,

Surely electing Democrats will fix the problem, right? 😅

…right? 😰

OprahsedCreature,

If they could combine that with weather protection and more public transportation the car might finally die that final sweet death.

I feel like /c/memes has taught us a valuable lesson today: Would it make sense to develop a feature to block a comm from our feed for a selectable unit of time (1 hour, 1 day, etc.)?

Even if we’re subscribed to them? Could a temp block exist in conjunction with a subscription? I love c/memes but holy shit no matter which sort I select by they’ve managed to overwhelm my feed.

OprahsedCreature,

Oh, that could be useful

Also, my memory might need some work but was there talk about multis at some point?

OprahsedCreature,

Sorry about that, it does feel a bit ambiguous doesn’t it?

I think I just wanted to gauge other people’s thoughts and brainstorm a bit but if you feel it’d be better to move it I can do that, your call.

OprahsedCreature,

I may have also wanted to complain about c/memes today in a roundabout way in retrospect XD

OprahsedCreature,

Also, the sun is warm

OprahsedCreature,

That’s a good time to showcase your ability to do exactly what they wanted the whole time: Turning right
