The crackhead down the road wasting away in his own piss and shit isn’t equally “valuable” to me or anybody that contributes to society in a positive manner. I don’t care how you spin it
I’ve been grappling with a concern that I believe many of us share: the lack of privacy controls on Lemmy. As it stands, our profiles are public, and all our posts and comments are visible to anyone who cares to look. I don’t even care about privacy all that much, but this level of transparency feels to me akin to sharing my...
The Beijing institute developed the technique to crack an iPhone’s encrypted device log to identify the numbers and emails of senders who share AirDrop content, the city’s judicial bureau said in an online post. Police have identified multiple suspects via that method, the agency said, without disclosing if anyone was...
I agree. I’m just referring to China since this article is. They claim they figured it out but really they already have the keys to the backdoor. It was a requirement that Apple provided it to China before Apple devices could be sold in China.
I’m happy to adopt a new podcast app if it has sponsorblock natively or through a plug-in. Otherwise let me know if there’s some other way to make it work. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work as all of the segments tagged for skipping are crowdsourced which would also work for Podcasts.
I think I might cancel. I’m not watching ads and I’m not going to pay the extra $3/mo to opt out. I don’t know if I’d end up paying more than the subscription cost in shipping though…...
I’ve found Walmart+ and Sam’s+ to be better for my needs lately. I only have prime when I can get it for free for a month. I only care about free shipping. I can give a crap about anything else that comes with prime
It’s Lemmy. Most people here (arguably worse than the alien site) are obsessed with genitals, sex, pronouns, social justice etc. I’ll never understand it really. They will take a conversation about rocks and the next thing you know they’re bringing up orange man and calling the rocks some sort of phobe, ist, or bigot.
It’s quite annoying really. Reading comments on something I’m interested in and watching it devolve into chaos.
Yesterday there was a controversial movie torrent that was getting 1000s of downloads and was on the “popular this week” page, and today it’s just gone. I went to the uploader’s account page and it’s not there either. Just like it never existed....
I guess when I browsed a piracy board,I wasn’t really expecting a psychotic rant about Trump and other political shit. I don’t mind reading about some current court cases involving some piracy news and whatnot.
The Internet is saturated with orange man bashing and today’s current outrage bait. I’m bored of it. It’s not even remotely interesting anymore. Apparently, judging by the upvotes that person got, I’m in the minority.

Out of the box it can play audio in the background, and now that extensions are available you can block ads as well. You don’t really need constantly updating 3rd party clients or questionable firewalls anymore if you just want usable youtube on a phone.
Well, they seem to work pretty well. They sell these on the shelf in Walmart. Seems to be mostly bloat free, if not disable the stuff. They are pretty fast, the remote is good. I run a VPN on mine anyway. For the price they are probably the best bang for the buck.
This is a $1 dollar increase from what I was paying. But soon subscribers will be $15/month, then $20/month. I wonder how much of deezer’s income actually goes to the artists.
From a stereotypical perspective, some may find teens annoying due to perceived mood swings, rebellious behavior, or being glued to screens. On the positive side, teens are often seen as energetic, creative, and adaptable. It’s essential to recognize individual differences rather than relying solely on stereotypes.
Today we are forced to share some sad news - yesterday many of our domains were seized again. We should highlight that the majority of the seized domains were not mirrors of the Z-Library website. Instead, they were separate sub-projects, containing only books in rare languages of the world, and their blocking is perplexing. For...
This year we made good progress. You know, Linux gaming becoming better, Reddit fucking up, Metaverse failing etc. But on the other hand Big Tech has or are planning to make some moves. Such as, Google’s Web Enviroment Integrity API (EDIT: they backed off), UK’s encryption bill, etc....
