This kind of “America did nothing in WW2” rhetoric is almost as r-word’ed as “America soloed WW2.” You’re an idiot if you think America was “years late” and didn’t play a huge role in the European front. Not even to address the Pacific Theatre.
Maybe, but swappable =/= replaceable, in my opinion. I could be wrong, but I’m not sure that EU legislation says that phone batteries should be swappable, only replaceable
Google is going to release new manifest v3. How could it harm uBlock Origin? And will Firefox and Safari become the only major browsers that fully support uBlock Origin?
I find it hard to believe that there’s any overlap on the Venn Diagram between people technologically literate to use the Fediverse and people who still use Chrome. I’m always shocked to see posts like this. For OP, join us
I mean it’s a funny meme, but philosophers have been debating about which of these is the better option for millenia. It isn’t like the general consensus is that living in that living in the Matrix was preferable
Ummm ackchully the powdered wig look didn’t take off until the mid-16th century (funny enough, started because of the syphilis epidemic, a disease which came from contact with the New World) and was reserved for the wealthy elite at the time. Most sailors getting off the first boats would’ve just been wiry, deformed, and pock-marked hunchbacks ☺️☺️
I’ll never understand how Twitch became as big as a thing as it is.
"So you’re telling me that instead of watching a fifteen minutes of nicely edited video of content I can watch for hours of a greasy man in a tank top play a game for four hours and get fifteen minutes of good content in the time span? "(Literally) “Take my money!”
I love posts like this because it always has the subtle insinuation that weight gain is some moral failing on individuals instead of the natural result of allowing food producers across the board to sell the most unhealthy slop you could ever dream of while simultaneously making healthy food (literally just fresh, unprocessed items - i.e. the things that everyone ate for tens of thousands of years) a luxury item. This, of course, happening after food lobbyists successfully brainwashed entire generations of people with their shareholder-approved “food pyramid.”
Kind of a trend, the amount of youtubers who i had loved but their content became generic after gaining popularity is quite a bit, most drastic one being mrwhosetheboss, his uniqueness went down faster than MH27 MH17
CinemaSins. They were always kind of bottom-of-the-barrel, but their early videos pretty much just amounted to narrating the IMDB trivia pages so it was harmless. I went back and checked in on their channel for the first time in 8+ years and holy shit they’ve gotten bad. Videos running a quarter the length of the movie they’re doing with word-salad voice over that doesn’t even make sense.
Also: “[female actor] isn’t 18 in this scene” was just as fucked up in 2012 as it is in 2023.
I mean the other 2 countries, Canada and Mexico, how similar are both of them to United States?? Both countries have a similar economy and democracy etc, and I think those two countries share things like supermarkets, stores, etc. I suppose the cultural differences are not a lot, that is very nice.
Unsure of the rest of my family but it’s become a running gaga to get my mom the cheesiest custom-printed throw blanket we can think of. This year’s is a horribly cropped screenshot of a text conversation we had a while ago about buying groceries from Dollar General
Electric cars don’t solve every problem with private vehicle ownership but they’re certainly a step in the right direction. Most EVs average an equivalent of more than 100mpg versus most ICEs, which are around 30-40. You can also power an EV with renewable resources. This isn’t possible with ICEs (yes, I know you can power certain diesels with biofuel, but it’s horribly inefficient).
“Buying a new car is worse than keeping an old one” is an incredibly situational phrase that has a million exceptions for so many people.
