It’s a tool like anything else. It’ll be used for everything like anything else. It cannot be stopped. All we can hope for are tools to mitigate the damage and applications to outweigh what bad it’s capable of. Trying to slow it down is like trying to stop a flood with buckets. Build a boat, it will only keep rising.

They were ordered to stop putting the fence up, ignored it, and continued to put the fence up. Yes, if the Texas National Guard is federalized they probably won’t refuse orders but that has to be an active choice by Biden to do. Until then, they are under the Governor’s orders which have been to ignore the supreme court ruling and federal law.

It is the definition of treason as the Governor is expected or trusted to obey federal laws.

I suppose I would have been the one to take the ‘carve’ method, removing the damaged tissue and having new skin grafted on. If the doctor presented that as an option and it was refused, then that’s fair, but as someone who has damaged lymph nodes from an infection I’m keenly aware of the misery a chronic condition can cause with no real long-lasting solution. Yet I still was given treatment options and medication which I’d expect as standard practice.

You all remember just a few weeks ago when Sony ripped away a bunch of movies and TV shows people “owned”? This ad is on Amazon. You can’t “own” it on Prime. You can just access it until they lose the license. How can they get away with lying like this?

Yeah I was gonna mention that I don’t think the soap and steam really care if it’s poop germs or food germs. As long as your dishwasher is working properly, everything in there should be snapped out of existence.

First Aid Kit - Zombies are dangerous but so are infections from minor cuts and lacerations. Gotta prep for the unexpected.

Machete - Most effective and common sense weapon as all the others require some level of skill or maintenance and only the machete would be good at making pointy sticks for improvised spears.

NVGs - Something people forget about is that when the power goes out you’re going to be looting some dark ass buildings even during the daytime. Stock up some batteries or a charger and looting just got so much simpler. Plus, if you hear a bump in the night, you can go looking for it without letting the neighborhood know where you are, like with a flashlight.

Water purifier - You can go approximately 3 days without water and the pipes stop working when the electricity does. That river and lake isn’t safe to drink, neither is the rainwater, and do you really want to whip out your firekit and draw attention just for sippy sips?

Boring picks but I think these are the biggest bang for your buck. Everything else will take so much just to maintain that it isn’t worth it. Including doggo.

That’s part of the price of freedom. Tor is a browser that makes it hard to be tracked down, so people use it to facilitate illegal activities. Crypto is a currency that makes it hard to be tracked down, so the same occurs. While most of us use and support these services for legal activities, just to be free from corporate and government oppression, there will always be people who use them to be from legal consequences.

Sadly, making it easier to find people who do things like post CSAM in turn makes it easier to find people who want to watch Porn without supplying a government ID. (Still can’t believe my state of Virginia passed that law.)
