Nobody likes a sucker, especially the kind that fall for fruit tarts like you. I knew there was trouble. I could smell it on the hot evening breeze. Fortunately for me, trouble is my favorite thing… Because I’m Joe Milkshake. I kicked down the door with one swift, decisive motion.

I guess it would have to be the third option after yes and no.

I don’t subscribe to the logic but I guess a part of it can be the lossless factor. Quality of pirated digital content is exactly like the original. If you tape something it usually loses quality. So people seem to care less about that kind of piracy. Which is stupid since going for lossy compressed pirated videos is allegedly not less wrong in the face of law.

Whats that about backing up subscriptions? Haven’t heard of that, what does it do and how do you use it?

Thats great, thanks for linking that.

Yeah, this is what is next. Another thing might be to split up one service into subcategories, like family, sci-fi, cinema or whatever and then charging for each individually. Obviously ending up more expensive if you get them all than what it is now.

Yeah, like the fair ones? How does he do it?

  1. The person on the other side isn’t guaranteed to be the same person when rematerialized. There’s the ontological argument that when you’re dematerialized, you die as your physical form is eliminated and that the person appearing on the other side is merely a clone of you, but not you.

Ah, the ship of Theseus O’Brien.

recommendations for lightweight window managers for an old netbook

Hi, I’ve got an old netbook from Samsung that has an old Intel Atom CPU (Intel Atom N455 1.66 GHz). I installed Arch on it and am now thinking of a suitable window manager. I tried Hyprland (kinda expecting it to not work really) whick didn’t start at all. Before I had Debian with Gnome, which technically worked, but...

On my old asus eeepc I used to have arch with i3 as a tilling window manager for a while. It was taking a bit to get used to but once I worked it out and configured it how I liked it, it was fantastic. Used it for several years until I had to write my thesis and needed something stable for my operating system.

Gentoo is a bit of a weird choice but maybe I am prejudiced from using it as a Desktop environment versus use as a server. But in any case, good to write this up.

I don’t need to live near one to realise that. Went to visit Vegas some 10 years ago and spent one of those days just walking from casino to casino, seeing those slot machine zombies depressed the fuck out of me real fast.

I wonder if some just go “ah fuck it, don’t talk to me, just take the bike back…”

Just like tap water you have to ensure a constant flow so bacteria cannot develop. You cannot half-ass the sgetti tap!
