“Coping” is all we can do. We’re too dispersed and divided to make protests much of an option. We’ve got militarized and trigger-happy police, so rioting isn’t much of an option. A large percentage of the population is living paycheck to paycheck, so strikes aren’t much of an option.
We’re screwed, but hey, the world is dying, so we won’t have to worry about it for long.
I (37M) recently caught myself getting frustrated when my wife offered solutions to my ranting. I just wanted to complain and not be told all the ways I could have avoided the problem in the first place. I finally understand.
Y’all don’t know/remember the struggle. My “apps” used to be 2 or 3 forums – and not particularly active forums, at that – that I would check repeatedly, all day long, during downtime at work. Posts and comments were rare.
I think most are willing to admit that. Admission does not equal conversation, though. I’m in that camp, but I am trying to cook more vegetarian meals – nowhere near 100%, but progress is progress.
Edit: I should clarify that I’m concerned with the environmental impact. I have no moral issues with eating meat. Environmentally, we’ve seen overwhelming evidence that vegetarianism would be beneficial, and that is why I am making an effort.
My views on Republicans are similar. The voters are both ignorant and poor, as well as selfish and wealthy. Those are two subsets of the same group. The leadership tends to fall into the latter category, with a few idiots thrown in for good measure.
I’ve found that denim does a rather good job. I actually have a couple cleaning cloths cut from old jeans, but I mostly just use the leg of whatever pair I’m wearing.
I don’t have a clue who more than half the characters are in these memes, but I still enjoy them. I watched TNG in my childhood, but not religiously, and I’ve barely seen anything since (until Strange New Worlds).
