.ml’s meme community is also heavily sanitized over there by the mods and admins. Both myself and another popular poster have had posts removed from there for reasons that didn’t make a whole lot of sense and when asked for clarification we were given hans waving. This happened repeatedly enough that we both stopped posting there because we genuinely couldn’t keep track of extremely vague rules that were applied in consistently.

Us mods here are far lighter on moderation. Just make sure it’s a meme, you’re not hurting someone else or being a dick to them, and that its not political.

I am honestly drawing a blank on any of these contradictions you’re talking about and the only examples I’ve ever heard I have listed above. Have any?

This is coming off snarky but it’s not meant to be. I just genuinely cannot think of any. People say this constantly but no one has ever provided me examples…

I desperately need a season of The Good Place, none of the dialogue or scenes changed, but the cast is swapped.

Michael - John DeLancie

Eleanor - Patrick Stewart

Chidi - Jonathan Frakes

Tahani - Marina Sirtis

Janet - LeVar Burton

Jason - Brent Spiner

Shawn - Gates McFadden

Judge - Michael Dorn

Glenn - Wil Wheaton

For me it’s a three way tie between First Contact, Those Old Scientists/Lower Decks crossover from SNW or Stormy Weather from Season 4 of Discovery. Honestly all his discovery episodes are stellar. You can really tell when he’s directing.

The room is difficult to explain but it’s a science/engineering lab. As for the meme… That character is named Stamets and is gay. The first openly gay Trek character.

However I don’t know if this is supposed to be about the character or about me because I am so aggressively gay on this account. So trust me. We’re both laughing and both confused

Would make sense because my life feels like a fuckin’ nightmare.

Reminds me of that Driver: San Francisco game. Amazing game.

Well shit. I don’t imagine that’ll be a problem for long.

I seriously hope things start turning around for you soon, my friend. If I can call you that. I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this when you don’t deserve it. If you ever need someone to talk to or want someone to vent to, I’m here buddy. I’d hug but I don’t wanna hurt your arms further.

Also as for the spoiler (I can’t use the tags on my app for whatever reason) yes. That was an insane thing to do and no one liked it. However I cannot say anything about it without spoiling stuff for you. Just trust me when I say that things get better.

Contrary to popular belief, not everything is made for Americans.

I’m just sitting in the background like “Why did I say Linus memes? You could have said Captain Proton, you moron!”

Vigorously defended by Solow, and despite the fact that Star Trek series was already ordered by NBC, after the second pilot episode, “Where No Man Has Gone Before”, had been produced, virtually the entire Desilu Board of Directors voted to cancel Star Trek in February 1966 nevertheless, board member Bernard Weitzman being the sole exception. Yet, as Chairwoman of the Board, Lucille Ball had the power to override her board, and this she did with a mere nod of her head towards Solow. “That was all Star Trek needed,” as author Marc Cushman had succinctly put it, “A nod of Lucille Ball.” One of the nay-sayers on the board, studio accountant Edwin “Ed” Holly, later conceded, “If it were not for Lucy, there would be no ‘Star Trek’ today.”

Nobodys getting paid for being a mod, right?

I’m sure as hell not

Stamets,
@Stamets@startrek.website avatar

Yes. Yes I do get that a lot lol I never thought that would end up being a consequence of me branching out into other communities after establishing myself in Risa. You’re not alone though, don’t worry about that!

Oh I totally get it. That’s why I love this comic series so much. Was genuinely one of the first times I could go “oh wow, someone gets it.” I have most of the comics saved to my phone which is why my posting of comics to this community is skewed in their favor. Also I just kinda love them and wanna give the artist more attention.

HAHAHAHA! I’m listening to it right now on Spotify while posting. Seriously. Amazing song. Posted it to Mastodon yesterday as well as part of my dumb ‘Mycelial DJ’ bullshit.

Amazing song by an amazing artist.

Oh I completely agree with all of your points. I just also stand by the fact that they did stray. Maybe for the better, maybe for the worst, but they’re definitely not upholding the tenants of the Jedi Order in the way that they used to. I think it isn’t until Luke faces Vader and holds back from the darkside that both Yoda and Obi-Wan sort of come to have an inner realization of how they changed. That’s totally headcanon for me but I dunno. I like the idea that they were corrupted and didn’t realize it until the ‘Next Generation’ helped them realize it. I’m a sucker for that shit just like you’re a sucker for the conversation.

For the record, I’m always down to do this. If you ever wanna have a chat about Star Wars, hit me up! I may be more well versed in Star Trek but that’s not saying much. I’m still steeped in a fuckload of Star Wars as well.

It definitely adds a new level of appreciation to TOS when you have Enterprise, Strange New Worlds, and some great TOS movies that help flesh it out.

Probably what I should have named the title to be honest

I fucking hate you. I mean I like you but fuck you. How dare you put that in my head

Reality.

It is literally 1 or 2 seconds. It’s an extremely quick flash that’s in the background. Not even given focus from what I remember, although I could be wrong on that. It was just so forgettable.
