That’s not gonna solve the problem when everything is switching to electric. It’ll be even cheaper to power a vehicle like this, plus they can cram it with batteries to tout a high range. See: Hummer EV.
I think the performance issue is not at all overblown, but the complaints about stripped features are overblown. The game is more complex than the original, but it does run like dogcrap right now.
To me, 30fps is unbearable in fast paced games, but okay in slow paced games. This is a slow paced game, so I’m fine as long as the fps stays above 24 with a 1% low of at least 20.
I’m not the most knowledgeable on this subject, but I’m curious to learn more.
Why do various toolkits have major releases that seem to reset the features of the last one?
GTK 3 seems like GTK 2 but slower to me, and before the transition was even complete GTK 4 showed up, which just seems like GTK 3 but a bit different. Qt 5 works really well and is efficient on resources, so why are we switching to Qt 6? It seems like reinventing the desktop over and over again.
I understand updates for the kernel for compatibility, small to medium updates to all software for bug fixes and new features, and major updates to toolkits when there are big problems with the current release (X vs Wayland for example). Or if the current release was unreliable and bloated, which I heard was what happened with Qt 4 and why they switched to 5. But I also heard Qt 3 was really stable and lightweight, so why did they switch away from it?
That is two very different things. One is a terrorist group, the other are just humans trying to live their lives in safety. Same with Israel. The people are humans trying to live their lives in safety, but Netenyahu is incredibly corrupt and reports show that he is secretly propping up Hamas.
I used that for a while specifically because of that feature. But I switched to uBlock origin when I found out it could block those autoplaying videos as well.
This might be a hot take here, but I’d be open to instances running a limited number of ads with minimal tracking to generate enough revenue to keep the instance afloat.
It’s why I did use the official Reddit app at first when I started using Reddit. They can’t bleed money forever. But when they kept making the app worse and worse and worse that’s when I switched to third party apps. And after they killed those, I didn’t have any sympathy for Reddit because I was sick of their continued greed.
I have an organ donor on my license. But I’m not trying to kill myself, I’m just following my heart.
It seems like fewer people in my generation have motorcycles because 1) we have less money (although you can save by replacing a car with one) than previous generations, and 2) the older generations constantly push the narrative that having a motorcycle is equivalent to having a death wish, which circles back to the point that they shouldn’t be spying on us all the time.
It’s not just that, it’s also random content totally outside of your interest (I watch gaming and motorcycle content and it tries to feature some foreign holiday celebration videos lol) and worse, “products you may like.”
I’ve never had premium, mostly out of spite after the forcing ads on unmonetized creators and removing the dislike count, once I was able to afford it. But I’ve seen some other post on Lemmy with the “products you may like” appearing on a premium account.
This is the true reason why I don’t have YouTube premium. This is quite an awful experience for a supposedly premium subscription. Why pay for premium if the experience is better using free methods?
Nowadays I find a lot of games feel like too much work and/or anxiety when I just want to relax for like, 30 minutes to an hour after a long day. On the other hand, the games specifically designed to help you unwind just feel boring imo....
The uncomfortable part about the Sportster was actually how unexpectedly aggressive the riding position was. I expected laid-back similar to my GZ250 which is also a cruiser.
I am starting to think of ADVs as the SUVs of motorcycles. Usually, big, tall, off-road capable, comfortable, not particularly sporty, expensive, and trendy.
At the moment I am extremely budget-conscious so I’ll be sticking with my 250 unless I find a smoking deal for another motorcycle. Currently I’m a college student that doesn’t really need a motorcycle, but I really wanted one. Where I will be able to get a nice motorcycle is if I can spend my future car budget on a motorcycle instead…
Forza Horizon 5. I like to just drive around the map for a while, and maybe do a race or two, until I inevitably get bored after an hour or so. Repeat every week.
(until I bought a real life motorcycle to scratch that itch, and no, I’m not racing or being dangerous on my motorcycle)
I currently have a '06 Suzuki GZ250. I got it 3 months ago and already have put 1600 miles on it.
I’m already getting the itch for a faster motorcycle, though. I first test rode a Harley Davidson Sportster 48, which was fun and tourquey but kind of heavy and not as comfortable as I expected (Harley = cruiser = comfortable so I thought). I then made the decision (mistake?) of test riding a Triumph Trident 660, and holy crap that was so much fun, I need it in my life lol even though I can’t afford it.
I also had an unexpected “adventure” getting stuck in the mud recently when trying to go off the beaten path. Dual sports have way too high seat heights for me but maybe I should get an ADV bike?
God help me the day I try a supersport bike. Make sure I don’t submit to squid-dom…

What game do you play to just chill?
