edit: I want to post this map but its complaining that the content type isn’t html. I don’t really see the purpose of linking a webpage when linking directly to the image will allow it to properly embed? Not sure if that’s an instance limitation or a community limitation but it seems like not the right choice for meme communities
Shout-out to the /r/Sysadmin mods who decided subreddit uptime was too important to partake in the blackout. Man that place just had a really toxic tone and really made me strongly want to avoid the Sysadmin career track
it should be more hands-off for the user and the server should silently just do the thing to get the instanced community before sending data back to the client
Understanding how much data it might be potentially requesting, I’d even accept a “please wait while we load this community” screen that then redirects to the community once its been loaded onto your instance
realise I want to go back to uni and study info tech
I highly recommend it! College as an adult who’s been in the workforce is way better than college as a kid fresh out of highschool. Great opportunity to make some more friends, do some cool college activities, plus there’s lots of good opportunities for student pricing on stuff if you have a .edu email and its a brilliant change of pace.
I’ve run cinnamon on some pretty anemic systems and it was quite snappy. But I’d also been able to upgrade the memory so if it’s not upgradabe that may not be as good
Youtube’s default player will now resize the viewport depending on the aspect ratio of the content, so I suspect it would do the same for vertical video
Feeling the lack of moderation now Reddit? (lemm.ee)
Shocked Pikachu face meme.
Reddit API blew up and now I run Linux? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
I feel like I’ve been gaslit into running FOSS but every success only brings me closer to fighting god
What are some must have Firefox plugins?
