Yeah there’s there tragic undertone to the whole thing as well. It showed the underclass actually standing up for themselves rather than fighting to keep inequality in place.
I just watched this episode a couple days ago. Some of it is way too applicable to current day, particularly the part about how it takes a huge tragedy for the population to realize that maybe we should make society nice for other people.
I have set both short and long swipe right to be upvote in my favorite clients (Memmy, Voyager). That way I can rapid fire the upvotes on a discussion I like.
If I feel compelled to get off my ass and downvote something, it’s always two clicks away in the menu.
I am absolutely looking forward to it! I have been enjoying this rewatch much more than I remember liking the show years ago.
I’m at this sweet spot where I know the broad strokes but don’t remember all the details because it’s been a long time. I can anticipate stuff and see pieces falling into place, but I still get surprises here and there.
America is essentially the center of the universe, so to exclude it from a photo of earth is pretty much an overt hostile act. A hostile act towards the people with the F-22s.
Source: am American, have to deal with other Americans that are less aware of the world.
As always, the paying user has the worst experience. “Purchase” a show, can only watch on a certain console of a certain brand, no transfers, no backups, then it suddenly disappears from the library and nothing can be done....
I still like having a console strictly for games, but not for media stuff. Plus since it’s an Xbox, you can subscribe to Game Pass and treat every game as a rental.
That doesn’t do anything to help game preservation though, which sucks. But between the sheer volume of games and the “every game is a rental” attitude, I treat new games as a one-time experience that I probably won’t care about returning to.
Fortunately though, the games I care most about having access to forever are easily backed up and can be played with an emulator if necessary.
My guess is yes. Many consider it the best Star Trek. I think I agree and I’m not even to the best parts yet.
The general look & feel of it is closest to TNG, if you’ve seen much of that. It’s not as campy as the original, but you get a few moments of “look at that actor on that obvious sound stage set pretending to be an alien, lol” moments. But DS9 has more long plot arcs. I am loving the cast of characters more than I remember too.
