Greenland startup begins shipping glacier ice to cocktail bars in the UAE (www.theguardian.com)

Arctic Ice harvests ice from the fjords of Greenland, and then ships them to the United Arab Emirates to sell to exclusive bars. Using glacial ice in drinks is a common practice in Greenland, and, over the years, several entrepreneurs have unsuccessfully attempted to export it....

abbadon420,

You gotta make a living. Why not make a living off of those stupid idiots who value your magic ice over regular ice. It’s like selling overpriced paper cards with pretty pictures to kids who love Pokemon. Except kids are kids and these arabs are supposed to be fully capable adults. It’s a low risk, high reward game. I can’t blame them.

abbadon420,

I have a wallnut tree and I use all my wallnuts through the year. I do give a lot away too, but I don’t appreciate it when people just take it.

abbadon420,

You have a choice to make. You take the blue pill… the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill… you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

abbadon420,

Water wars? I’ve got about 30 cm of water in my basement right now.

abbadon420,

Bluey with Dutch dubs. I’ve been looking for that for a while.

abbadon420,

These are difinitely just short clips, but I’ll take another (actual) look at certain sites. Up till now I had automated software do the looking for me, but apparently it’s not flawless.

Ok ok, don’t

See if I care.

abbadon420,

Scotland could never leave. Britain doesn’t want to loose Scotland and Europe doesn’t want to split up all the British kingdoms and have them join one by one.

Northern Ireland has a chance to leave the shithole that is brexit by joining Ireland, but does Ireland want that? You’re gonna spark a fire if you do that. The politics and rebellions of the 80’s are only dormant, the sentiment is far from gone.

abbadon420,

Hemingway’s (alledged) 6 word story:

“For sale: Baby shoes. Never worn”

abbadon420,

I rather prefer latex over word, but I’m a programmer and I like fiddling with things to make it work properly. It’s not just for scientific papers, any pdf file can benefit from latex even if it’s only for the proffessional look.

abbadon420,

How dare you compare me to those low life, good for nothing, disney lovers. We are totally not the same. We might have the same origin, we’re called “nerds”. But down the road, they took a wrong turn and lost their way. However, I love them like a brother, because there is noone better to pick on than your brother.

abbadon420,

It is generally accepted that the historical person of Jesus did exist. There are other (non biblical) sources fromt that era that mention a man named Jesus of Nazareth from the Palestine area in the first century. Which is only logical, since he made quite a political and religious ruckus. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historicity_of_Jesus

abbadon420,

Don’t cry for me argentina

abbadon420,

You should also make a guess as to what percentage of working class people voted for this baffoon.

abbadon420,

I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called Linux distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux!
