It’s 3x as often as he does the dishes at any rate; he must not be a big drinker.

EDIT: It’s 2x as often as he puts the toilet seat down as well…must not have to go pee pee very often.

EDIT2: For people with the “toilet seat down” problem, just get a toilet seat that slow closes on its own…they’re like 20 bucks and then you can just tap the top of the top part of the seat and it does the rest of the work.

I can pee and throw up 10 times per day, no issues.

Am I the only one alarmed that he’s cleaning up so much vomit? I mean I get that he wants the BJs, but is he feeding the kids syrup of ipecac sandwiches?

Ah gotcha, every apartment I’ve ever been in and my condo up until I installed these shades had crappy, plastic Venetian blinds that were basically pointless for blocking light…so I agree 100%.

Have you thought about installing a blackout cellular shade instead? I bought a shade for this room I’m sitting in that’s basically two shades in one: it has a shade that lets in light and one that blacks everything out. If you want daylight, you pull the one shade down, if you want darkness you put that shade fully up, and if you want access to the window you put them both up.

It was IMO pretty affordable. I think the one I bought was around $300, and I have pretty large windows.

Here's what they look like if you're interestedhttps://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/45ca4d13-ffe1-48c3-a642-819ed22901c0.png

Thanks, these actually look really cool. I hadn’t heard of this before.

I don’t know why phablets are a thing. Phones are too big imo.

I had a Motorola g power from 2020? I think? That’s about the right size. I actually wish they could make a usable phone that’s about the size of the bottom half of this one I’m using right now, but it would take some UI innovation which nobody is interested in. It’s funny too because the bigger flagship phones are more expensive, but I’d never pay for that.

I ended up buying a Motorola razr because at least the fucking thing fits in my pocket for once. That’s honestly the biggest tangible benefit I’ve gotten out of a phone purchase in a while.

Each iteration of phone seems more like something I don’t want to even be involved with. Maybe I’ll just buy a light phone next time.

aesthelete, to memes in Flight sim people are on another level

I work in the motorcycle industry and there’s a large overlap between pilots and motorcycle riders for some reason.

I got a single neighbor who has two different cars, a bunch of e-scooters, and builds different e-bikes constantly in his garage. Some people are just enthusiastic about modes of transportation I think…

While this is definitely true, it’s important to get quality leather goods in order to have them last. For instance, “genuine leather” is actually the worst grade of leather, and can flake and fall apart in a few years.

I just bought a Schott NYC bison hide jacket that I’m hoping lasts me for the rest of my life, and I bought a saddleback leather wallet (which comes with a 100 year warranty on it) around three years ago and it still looks great: saddlebackleather.com

Quality leather jackets are a bit hard to find. Lambskin leather is light and easier to wear (and is what most people purchase), but (especially if it’s a highly-processed lambskin) may only last a few years before starting to fall apart.

EDIT: For purses, there is a guy who was making the rounds in the national media due to going viral for cutting up luxury purses to see what the quality is of them (he goes by “Tanner Leatherstein”) and he evaluates the quality of purses. I bought my wife a Dooney & Bourke purse at www.dooney.com that has lasted longer than a lot of the cheaper crap she’s used and it still looks very good at 5 years old. “Tanner Leatherstein” says that Coach bags are generally pretty decent quality, and also runs his own shop here which I cannot personally attest to but may buy a gift from for my wife: www.pegai.com

It also should extend underground into the Earth’s core to prevent tunneling.

aesthelete, to asklemmy in So, who or what ruined Christmas this year?

The NFL. Really? Two games on Christmas? Multiple games on Christmas Eve? Go fuck yourselves.

Everyone often bleats out “bread and circuses” at everything but I think this is one area where that actually applies. It wins you votes to keep the city-branded circus in town even if it means kowtowing to billionaire team owner whims.

Captain Ron fam checking in!

EDIT: We also were frequent watchers of “Money Pit” and “The 'Burbs”…all movies which are pretty notable for…being available for multiple watches.

fuck whoever thought putting super bright moving images right next to roads is safe and should be allowed.

I agree fuck ads and all but 90% of the drivers are too distracted by their phones to even see the ad. 😜

Though I guess this might grab the remaining 10% that were trying to actually pay attention to the road (a hypothetical percentage I cannot claim to personally have encountered).

Points deducted for missing an opportunity to use the word penultimate.
