afraid_of_zombies,

Yes this is outrage bate.

afraid_of_zombies,

Anywhere. Now keeping that relationship going will be the tricky part. Think of it cynically. If the only thing you are doing for her is giving her money and adding to the workload she can get your money and not have to work for you by getting divorced. Who doesn’t want to do less work for the same amount of money? She won’t have a relationship with you she will have it with your bank account.

In general I try to be sympathetic to new parents. I was terrified to watch my first born when she was born. Everything else I could help with but I kept worrying that something would happen if I watched our baby alone. It took time, and I built confidence. Then mom was able to run errands or have fun for a few hours. The thing is I wanted to improve.

afraid_of_zombies,

I do miss the atheist vs theists debates reddit had. It was kinda interesting hearing the same arguments over and over but having to study them in new ways.

Ok this one is arguing God exists because humans can think. Now I have to spend a few hours learning about animal intelligence. Ok this one is bringing up a first cause argument. Now I have to read the really long ebook NASA put out about the Big Bang.

It was fun challenging myself and I ended up learning.

afraid_of_zombies,

To be clear I hate religion but wisdom is where you find it.

The world Sidrattha (the Buddha) lived in is more horrible than anyone alive can imagine, except maybe North Koreans. In a culture where you were legally allowed to beat an untouchable they let their shadow pass on you, in a culture where the penalty for a slave caught praying was to have their tongue ripped out. In this world he taught a message of the inherit goodness and inner strength of humanity. His last spoken words were to remind people that no one needed him and they should work on themselves with diligence.

Now if he could see our potential in that hellscape I think we can manage to see it. And no I don’t think you or anyone else should become a Buddhist.

afraid_of_zombies,

As a wise man once said

You can eat anything if it is fried

I just assumed someone desperate figured if they could boil this stuff it might be food.

afraid_of_zombies,

So does fire. RIP Apollo 1.

afraid_of_zombies,

Went out with some friends to a free lecture and then to a 24 hour diner.

afraid_of_zombies,

History of Ethical Cultural and UU in the United States.

afraid_of_zombies,

I want an app that makes people pass a sobriety test before calling/sms certain phone numbers.

I call it “don’t message them”

afraid_of_zombies,

Wait. If that is how it happened that means when half the population came back they all came back with 0% of their gut bacteria. Holy shit that would be horrible. The population doubles overnight and every single person and animal has the worse runs of their life. Meanwhile they can’t get the nutritional needs no matter how much food they eat. Spend the next few months while their family cries as they wither away surrounded by food.

afraid_of_zombies,

Makes you wonder what happened to fetuses. I think it’s fair to assume Thanos isn’t pro-life

afraid_of_zombies,

Ok another one. What if the snap happened in late 2019 and suddenly there are billions of people who all need to be vaccinated at once?

afraid_of_zombies,

Would rather he didn’t but I doubt I will ever vote R for any position above dogcatcher ever again. So if he wins the primary I would end up voting for him.

afraid_of_zombies,

Might be observation bias. You hear about the morons who can’t shut up.

afraid_of_zombies,

Dont people have enough real stuff to worry about?

afraid_of_zombies,

I wonder if they have four of other body parts. In which case it could really work out well for you.

afraid_of_zombies,

Yeps. Great FICTIONAL story. Ever read Batman Year One?

afraid_of_zombies,

Because they choose to be invisible.

afraid_of_zombies, (edited )

Which indicates that it is

  1. A failure state the human brain goes into. Like how certain optical illusions work on nearly everyone
  2. Humans build narratives off senses. If there is already a cultural narrative and you have weird data will put it in there. You got a round peg and your culture gave you a round hole.
  3. A physical chemical allows you to outwit infinitely powerful infinitely higher beings and they are powerless to stop it.

3 doesn’t seem very likely.

afraid_of_zombies,

Inference. Being invisible to us and complex is going to take a lot of effort to deceive us. You can’t see with an invisible eye. You can’t avoid sinking into the core of the earth unless you have some density, which makes you wonder why we never see their footprints. So if all our senses and technology has failed to find them they must be actively working towards that goal.

afraid_of_zombies,

As I point out it doesn’t end there. Even if somehow some way humans just naturally couldn’t see them we have other senses we have other sensing technology we have inference. Mud and dust that show no footprints, radio site surveys that show no interference, radar, infrared, lidar…A lot of this stuff you can see for yourself

youtu.be/nXlqv_k4P8Q?si=HM3a8uUWbdlBc-TE

Heck how do they pass thru buildings to get in and out with density? Would we not all notice random doors and windows opening and closing? How many secure sites on earth where you need to badge in to a every room.

afraid_of_zombies,

Bible: Angels visit earth and have consensual relations with human women. Angels also visit Abe and Sarah appearing to be humans. Angels visit Lot and appear to be human.

Also Bible: be not afraid of me despite being a lovecraftian nightmare!

Can’t even keep their lies straight

afraid_of_zombies,

So if you have ever dealt with PLCs beyond the basics you know that timing/parallelism is a clusterfuck of misery and pain until you get to the point where you can master it.

I am pretty decent at keeping multiple things going as a result.

What are some of the stranger adaptations/adjustments to corporate culture you've noticed, and imagine emerging?

By corporate culture I mean like what you see with GoogleYouTube/MetaFacebook/etc. to accommodate advertisers and influence people to engage and acknowledge adverts. In turn, by adapt/adjust I mean how some people bleep curses out like fuck/shit/etc., say unalive instead of commit suicide/kill oneself, and make notorious video...

afraid_of_zombies,

I like Aussies. Always have. Never met a single one that didn’t tell me what he thought about me or anything else.
