That sounds pretty great. I get sick of having to switch gears for every layer. As a hobbyist it is tough to remember five or six languages well enough when only coding something a few times a year.
Since I do embedded, scripting, web front and back end this is sure tempting.
I have been hesitant to try to learn yet another language (this would make…ummm… idk I lost count ages ago). But with all the hype I may break down and give it a whirl.
Orphan-Crushing Machine is a metaphor for “heartwarming” news stories about someone remedying the immediate effects of a sociopolitical issue that ignore the root cause of said issue. The catchphrase and metaphor satirize these stories by comparing them to a story of a person raising money to keep 200 orphans from being crushed where nobody questions why an orphan-crushing machine exists in the first place.
Videos of unrelated things constantly popping up when someone is talking in the game. Your inventory blurs out half the items because your character forgot they had them. All text is intermixed with other text representing random thoughts. Quests disappear or reprioritize randomly. The character refuses to move due to lack of motivation.
Discovery … I still can’t believe what they did to the Klingons and I have other issues but… goddamnit that show won me over in spite of itself. Will start season 3 in a while. And I liked the first two seasons of Picard I don’t care what anyone says.
Since none chimed in (in the past 6 minutes) , I, an idiot, will share what I think I know. When reconstructing the faces of people from a skull, either with clay or software, they model the various tissues–muscles, fat, skin, etc according to models based on samples. How they would do this for a creature that isn’t very like any current living creature I don’t know. It is probably educated guesswork?
I just read an article on this process for a neanderthal and in that particular instance they used data from humans since I guess it was close enough.
But, for example (referencing a recent meme) how do they know spinosaur had a sail and not a hump back and neck muscles like a buffalo?? Seriously though I’m sure they can tell which bones have attachment points, how much force they can withstand, etc.
I tend to think the social angle is more credible Because the behavior of being a dick to female-sounding voices in games is not a universal behavior. Those who aren’t misogynists don’t act that way. How strange.
