As I understand it, it has lax checks if all disks are original. Some games required many, Pt.1 was on one, Pt.2 was on another, and a memory card sewed this monstrosity together whenever you switch disks - as it had no HDD, no install options.

Designing a game around that was hard and probably meant frequent checks, delays, and also a player having incomplete game if only one disk is missing or scratched if they want to play again - and you swapped them back and forth. So that dev implemented zero-check on a second disc after the first one is checked, a command to kill a game and start anew, and with that you can put whatever you burnt on your CD, leaving the console clueless it’s not your actual disk 2. It still needs you to boot with original Aliens first and put code, so it’s not exactly stealing anything directly, but oh god it’s an interesting vulnerability.

I haven’t heard of something akin to that, besides weird cartridge combos on old consoles where you put one into another or other heresy like plug-in cartridge readers, hardware extenders, etc. It seems Sony was convinced the first check is there, and it’s ok, but never thought you can abuse it up that great, and had no further investigation was put.

For a console that aged, that had hardware jailbreaks and emulators for years, I don’t feel they’d hurt him now. Twenty years is too much even for them. They’d still sell mini-PS1 without any problem as it has no disk reading capabilities and won’t care.

Расчеловечивание и гуро, думаю, даже не к самим идеологиям относятся, а к тому, как всё стало интенсивно и мрачно вокруг. Смотришь старые шоу и фильмы, они все такие медленные и аккуратные, как театр. Сейчас никто не ходит вокруг да около, та же Игра в Кальмара становится международным хитом, дураки в разных городах даже устраивают тематические конкурсы с аниматорами. Сцены убийства там показаны с минимальной отдачей, подбор цвета там невозможно холодный и насыщенный - всё выкручено на 11 баллов, и это не артхаус, а мейнстрим. И современные тиктоки, шортсы, да даже новости - всё такое, нарезано коротко, громко, с кучей информации, чтобы завладеть вниманием, перегрузить человека, погрузить его в какую-то гиперреальность. Потому реальные события уже не кажутся такими яркими и ты не успеваешь их по-настоящему воспринять, даже если они кромешный пиздец. Особенно, когда ты смотришь на них откуда-то из Европы, и сам нарратив превращает это в подобие увлекательного спортивного соревнования. Это было наиболее заметно с контрнаступлением: ещё нет или уже да, а что так медленно? - будто стрим игры смотрят. Может, после какой-то отметки сам разум отстраняется от восприятия реальности которую не может вынести, и всё скатывается в подобное мракобесие. Люди выбирают ярлыки, сторону, и только ставки разве что не делают, а самые страшные видео попадаются им в ленте между мемами и котами. Мне кажется, мы все прогрессивно сходим с ума, и социальные сети только поощряют такое поведение, потому что могут его монетизировать. Но, увы, куда теперь от них деться?

That one didn’t feel funny because of a long list of categories, and then a list of coursive paragraphs. It was long and I couldn’t find a place to react on.

You either keep them short, or intentionally drag them this long providing the reason - maybe, a legit-looking derangement. Once it gets boring it stops to be read as a joke or an absurd statement, but as a genuine position of someone not touching a piece of grass in their lifetime.

Mint, with any DE, does come with a graphical package manager. It’s as easy as any appstore. The only confusion is it suggests both it’s original and flatpack versions to install.

I think you are talking about EndevourOS there.

What’s with that whataboutism? I don’t care about the US. Why do your type brings it up every time, like it makes USSR’s wrongdoings more acceptable. It doesn’t. It’s rather a lesson to learn and not repeat in your country.

So? They built infrastructure there, yes, so it’s enormous territory can be somehow crossable. And they also built infrastructure, housing and plants\factories all over it’s territory. Gulag wasn’t just a one small camp, it’s the Main Office of Camp (Managenent), it had a lot of people to send elsewhere, based on what Kremlin wants.

As far as I know, LLMs are not that clever yet, and it would require a lot of work to automate tracking of so many targets. But a dedicated person tracking one user can see these. Unknowingly, we leave a lot of cues to know who we are. Not only patterns, but exact word-markers, like calling something by a regional-accepted name. Like how my english teachers insisted London’s metro is called Tube.
