Biological males competing at women sports are anti-ethical individuals. Those enabling this are also anti-ethical

Xenophobia is to racism what homophobia is to ... ?

Is there a word that means “a hatred of gay people”, rather than “a fear of or aversion to gay people”? Surely there are people who simply hate homosexuality without necessarily fearing it, and vice versa. Someone who hates homosexuality should probably be condemned for their unreasonable and hateful prejudices, but...

ani,

Pretty sure the word you’re seeking is homophism

ani,

Americans are mentally ill by nature. You just need to be in America and you are infected with mental illness and obesity. This is the reason why Americans are more prone to conspiracy theories including the idea that if you are fit you will fluctuate to space, thus most Americans become comorbidly obese to keep them in the Earth’s ground atmosphere. The solution for this is to deny Americans having crazy children who shoot schools and other types of mass murders.

ani,

Yes, it is actually a geopolitical issue that affects the biology of Americans. The Pacific Province has active volcanoes that expel smoke and when inhaled makes Americans in the region feel lightweight and as if fluctuating. The Columbia Plateau terrain is formes by basaltic lava that erupted millions years ago; this terrain has special characteristics that make it smoother than other types, so Americans feel like fluctuating instead of being in the ground. The Appalachian Highlands were formed by colliding the North America Plate with the African and Eurasian plates, so when American walk through these places they feel like being in a continent other than North America. The list goes on, but we shall also remember America is a capitalist neoliberal country which is a modern framework for society, so Americans are very stressed out by this system that’s very different from when they were hunter-gatherers; this difference creates an environment prone to the development of mental illness and believing in conspiracy theories. The result: children shooting schools.

Everyone should have to provide their real identities for all kinds of social media, which in turn would be directly tied to social credits and justice system; this would discourage a ton of bad behaviors on the internet, including but not limited to cyberbullying, racism, trolling, and so on, and would instead encourage good behaviors by gaining social credits. Social media platforms should also be hold responsible for any kind of bad content, and have to compasate all victims of harassment. Really, just some days ago a wonderful young woman of just 22yo died by suicide for being harassed so much online; she didn’t even have social media, but harassers were able to get pics of her and create a fake story that escalated a ton…

What is Something Scientific that you just don't believe in at all?

EDIT: Let’s cool it with the downvotes, dudes. We’re not out to cut funding to your black hole detection chamber or revoke the degrees of chiropractors just because a couple of us don’t believe in it, okay? Chill out, participate with the prompt and continue with having a nice day. I’m sure almost everybody has something...

ani,

That sounds about right. Could you give an example of what correct treatment should be? I agree that treatment for many conditions is long term.

ani,

People are free to express what they think about science. There’s no law saying otherwise. Why are you guys so upset?

ani,

I had a DVD player and some DVDs came with playable games it was the best.

It was very hard at first, we used to slap many times and hard enough touchscreens, but this turned out to be unreliable. Then, we developed special penguin gloves that heat themselves so we can use touchscreen almost seamlessly.

Bible was just piecemealed together by a bunch of old white men in the 16th? Century during the council of nicea.

About this…

Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code, which became popular in 2003. According to Brown’s fictional (and historically dubious) narrative, the books that make up the Bible were officially selected and put together by the Council of Nicaea in 325 CE, under the authority of Constantine I who sought to define Christian doctrine and belief.

Although the Council certainly did meet at a time of crisis within the Church, it did not address the biblical canon, despite what Brown said. This has become a modern myth that has outlasted the book’s initial surge in popularity. In reality, the Council of Nicaea met to debate the nature of the Trinity (that Jesus is the son, and father, and the holy spirit at the same time), among other things.

iflscience.com/who-decided-which-books-went-into-…

It seems like influential and powerful individuals and organizations who voiced which texts should the bible include up until the 4th century, and those who disagreed were deemed heretics.

ani,

I still kept the positive messaging, but also added in the positive messaging from other religions and honestly see them all as more cultural than mystical.

I kind of relate to this, but I think in certain situations people may feel some spiritual forces akin to schizophrenia, and that religion might also have served for survival purposes since different cultures developed supernatural beliefs. Also, what positive messagings do you keep? Because I also find that Christianism and Buddhism for example have important ethical teachings that I try to follow.

That sounds pretty heartbreaking, I’m sorry you’ve gone through that. Hope you’re in a better place today. If you’re OK with me asking, were your parents under chronic stress to both have developed such psychological traits?

ani,

Lemmy originally has an anti-west bias. That naturally spans to general communities as well

ani,

Fair point, I was mostly listing the major downsides IMO that OP asked for

You will find what you further need on the go, no need to get more ready than what you’ve already done.

ani,

Bindings are like translations of the relevant C code to Rust so they can use Rust to talk (interop) with the C library instead of having to use C.

Does this mean GTK can’t use Rust natively, at least for the interface?

I never used GTK, but I suppose from this conversation that yes.
