You can smell the Manjaro influence from 3 miles away

You can have hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. I also use snap-pac to make snapshots before and after pacman transactions.

Check out wiki.archlinux.org/title/Snapper

Wasn’t aware of that, using snapper for my snapshotting needs.

sudo btrfs subvolumes create /path/to/subvolume

If you don’t configure anything, root will already be a subvolume.

If you wanna make a used directory a subvolume, you have to move the contents first, and move them back after creation.

The only thing that takes time here is the move

backhdlp, to piracy in Does the idea of this concern anyone else? Why is no one talking about it?

“Next year will be the year of the Linux desktop, I swear”

The trick is to know that this is the decade of the Linux desktop

backhdlp, (edited ) to linuxmemes in So, timeshift or NixOS?
@backhdlp@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

I reinstall on an estimated average of about monthly, distro hopping skewed that, it so should be around a bit less than bimonthly.

backhdlp, (edited ) to linux in Dumbest Thing you have done distro-hopping?

Another alternative to not configuring is using someone else’s rice

backhdlp, to asklemmy in What are some RSS feed clients that do not have a subscription
@backhdlp@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

If you’re on Android, you can look on F-Droid. If you’re on Linux, you can look on Flathub, if your DE doesn’t already include one by default. Thunderbird also has RSS support to my knowledge.

backhdlp, to linux in I made it to Linux! What is your must-have FOSS or Free Software for linux?
@backhdlp@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

fastfetch is neofetch in C instead of bash, makes it much faster.
