Good point but it’s important to note that in the US, the state definitely interferes with “the market”, but only when power is threatened i.e. bailing out the banks instead of the mortgage holders in 2008, subsidies for fossil fuels and the meat industries, and other instances of protecting capital which would otherwise get a boo-boo should it be exposed to either free market forces or something like the efficiency of single payer health care.
Lol cool. It reminds me of 2016 when I checked the Republican party website and on the Donate page the background was a picture of Trump. Then I checked the Democratic party website and on the Donate page the background was a picture of Trump but with a scary red hue.
Voting with our dollars is much more effective. Whenever possible, don’t buy evil. Evil is the cheaper option because they really need your support, or else they’re beached. This is a big reason for wage stagnation and a permanent underclass.
Does it normally refer to politics? Maybe for Americans, and they are responsible for a good deal of the English language content online. Right, and the 2 party system…
I’m with you, though, both sides means both sides of an argument. I think the news had something on that a while back- for every climate scientist they interviewed, they had to also interview a climate denier to present a “fair and balanced” view XD
Right. Why not peacefully protest? I’m pretty sure that the desperation needed to throw a rock at a tank is incomprehensible to entitled Americans who have never missed a meal out of necessity. There is very little real support for the Palestinian genocide, but a strong false narrative. This article has some descriptions of the day to day struggle of Palestinians living under apartheid.
That’s pretty much the extent of the “both sides bad” argument, no real substance. It’s a cowardly way of siding with the opressor. I think it’s also based heavily on ignorance, as if both sides have equal power and they could just have a gentleman’s agreement to duel at midday and settle it. That totally ignores both reality and history, but I get it, it makes one feel he has the moral high ground without actually doing anything or even taking a stand.

IDF destroyed Israeli homes (with Israelis inside) when Hamas raided them on Oct 7, and now they are indiscriminantly bombing Gaza, including where the hostages might be. I don’t see the logic at all. It seems like they don’t care about Palestinian OR Israeli civilians.
EDIT: I just stumbled upon this video, which shows Israeli police arresting a (black) Israeli soldier for trying to cross the street. It seems racist af. I really can’t figure out who they are protecting.
Propaganda and ignorance of history is a hell of a drug. Some people even act like Palestine has no history before Oct 7, 2023. It’s unbelievable.
we all can see very well with our own eyes
One side literally has no military while the other has a high tech military and even an arms industry worth billions. The only way Israel can achieve it’s goal of taking over Palestine is if people can not see very well with their own eyes, and that’s where the kool-aid comes in.
Very interesting hint. I do agree though, one is wolf in sheep’s clothing, other is wolf in wolf’s clothing. MLK Jr. had something to say about that:
I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negroes’ great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s “Counciler” or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can’t agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically feels that he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a “more convenient season.”
This is international law. We must uphold international law and promote human rights, because any society that does not, puts the whole world closer to barbarism.
