Lead is only one factor of pollution though. You will note that i acknowledged it exists. There is no objective way to say what is the most important factor or how you compare them.
DO they still? Last I heard Amtrak was no longer taking private train cars as too many were not in good mechanical shape and thus a large cause of their delayed trains.
For the cost of heating you can pay for a lot of gym membership. And if you don't use the gym cancle (gyms are notorious for being hard to cancle so read the fane print)
Sadly it works out for them overall. It only takes a few times of getting to the next light as it turns yellow and they are way ahead while you are sitting there at a red light. Sure sometimes you get to see them when it doesn't work out, but when it works out they are long gone.
It would, but worse. Both are a case of more cars than there is space. Heavy congestion would just need a lot more lanes to fix - maybe 10x as many. (don't ask me to pay for that or where those lanes go)
Or in short, support better transit for your city. For that cost of miles of 15 lane highways you can put in a lot of transit.
I.have them, but they are not really more durable than Teflon. I somehow destroyed the seasoning on one and I have no idea how to fix it. It looks perfect, but eggs stick. I.use cast iron or stainless steel for most cooking, reserving these for eggs only. I just plan on replacing my egg pans every 3-5 years, they are cheap.
This is not a valid question. You should be looking for a direction, not specifcs. Career is a combination if what you want to do, what you are willing to do, and what the job market needs right now. If you focus on a dream job you can get stuck with no job as the market doesn't need that.
What if I offered you a job but you had to move go the most remote Africa? Some would jump at it, others would hate it. Would you work a job where you are on the phone all day? Would you work a job in software testing? Would you be happy as a tour guide? Different people have different answers. You are allowed to change your mind later.
There is also what you are willing to go through for money. Doctors make a lot of money, but often have to work long hours and can be on call in the middle of the night, not to mention med school is hard. The world needs more engineers, but again it needs a lot of school .
So pick a direction that sounds good. Then refine it based on both what you like and what opportunities open up.
I mostly don't need a 1:1 replacement, just great content. There is more great content added in a day than there are hours - even if I watch on 2x speed. Note that I reduced this great content as opposed to the junk and there is still more than enough. Just give me some of that content and I'm happy. (junk vs great is in the eye of the beholder)
Most of the time and places a city doesn't need that capacity. Since your rail cannot get the garbage from my house, or my new bed to the house, we need roads as well. Thus for most a bus running in mixed traffic (remember most roads do not have heavy traffic!) is good enough and a lot cheaper. Where you need capacity a train is really good, but you don't need it.
That said I support trains in a lot more places because trains can run fully automated and thus in the real world can achieve the high frequency people need to choose transit even when a car isn't a problem to own (they can afford it and there is no traffic). This is however just a stop gap since self driving buses don't exist (yet?). In most "first world" countries cost of labor is high and automated trains are thus useful in places where a bus could do the job.
I was referring to the city engineers timing all the lights in a city. As a driver paying attention can help, but when you have several square miles of road network, with roads unequally spaced, different speed limits and all the other weird stuff they do in a real city it is not easy. It gets worse if you go from city to a metropolitan area.
I have concluded we will never convince people of that enough to change behavior (they will answer the question correctly when asked, but drive the same) thus i'm supporting transit as much as possible.
Because the people who developed X11 (that is Xorg) haven declared that. Maybe they should have named it X12, but they didn't for whatever reason. However the people doing the work have already given up on working on X11 they gave up on X11 beyond the bare minimum almost 10 years ago because some real issues with X11 as a protocol are not fixable.
There were other attempts to a successor to X11, but they never got the support of people doing the work on X11 (in part because they didn't understand the problem with X11 and so kept many bad things while 'fixing' things that were not broken)
Which is to say: you have two choices: get involved with continuing X11 development, or jump to Wayland. Throw a couple million $$$ per year at X11 (either pay developers, or convince a dozen developers to maintain X11) and I'll retract my statement, until then X11 is dead. If you cannot do that then Wayland is your only option.
If you have geothermo sized right for your house and climate you don't need a backup at all. However at the expensive of installing it you can get a modern air source heat pump for a lot less $$$, and so overall that is the better plan for most people even though in many climates you will need some other backup heat source for the days that it gets too cold for the air source heat pump.
