You have nothing to say?

Who would’ve thought that working with a company that has a terrible privacy policy, a suspicious buisiness model, closed source software, and an idiotic reason for keeping its software closed source would be a piracy disaster???

Sunbird literally has access to every message on iMessage that you send and receive. What was Nothing thinking when working with them?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems that as long as you don’t buy processed foods in America you should be able to easily avoid Nestle?

Can I use Google Play without a Sim card?

Can I use Google Play without a SIM card? I listen to audiobooks and don’t want to drain the battery on my personal phone so was going to buy a mini android and download Libby onto it and use that for listening to audiobooks but I don’t want to buy one if that won’t work. I have searched for my answer and can’t really...

As long as the device has Google Play services

It’s an immutable distro that simplifies running Android apps and containers for software from other distributions. It uses it’s own tool for immutability called ABRoot that also allows you to safely install native packages when needed.

If possible you could travel to a country where it is decriminalized or legal like The Netherlands or Portugal. There might be another one closer to Belgium but those are the only two I know of. I really hope you get better.

I made it to Linux! What is your must-have FOSS or Free Software for linux?

Thank you so much, comrades! I am feeling pretty comfortable with linux mint, and now would like some suggestions for some absolutely necessary FOSS or free license software for the OS. So far I have the standard, Firefox, ThunderBird, LibreOffice, yada yada. Thank you again to everyone on the linux comm! sankara-salute

6% of car drivers are cold blood animal killers, 89% of which are SUV drivers

ENG
Interesting experiment showing car drivers intentionally going on the road shoulder to kill by standing (fake) animals. Not surprisingly the majority of those are drivers

ITA
Interessante esperimento "scientifico" in cui si vedono automobilisti cambiare traiettoria per investire animali finiti sul lato della strada. La maggior parte guidano SUV

But if the majority of people on the road are SUV drivers wouldn’t it only make sense that the majority of drivers who don’t care about animals are also SUV drivers

Aren’t SUVs and trucks the majority of vehicles on the road the begin with in North America

A good morning routine is perfect for building momentum. I wake up at 6 AM and walk to my bathroom where I keep a bottle of water, as I am always thirsty in the morning. I brush my teeth, meditate, and engage in some light cardio, (literally something like 50 jumping jacks. It’s nothing too serious) Afterward, I take a warm shower, gradually lowering the temperature until it’s cold. Finally, I eat breakfast.

That’s a morning routine that works for me and is (mostly) copied from a Youtube video I watched on how to stay motivated. This is what works for me so I think it may be a good watch www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOEfDcGbbXo&t=362

Other than being completely unable to run Wayland, secure boot, and being forced to use a propietary driver what kind of things are specifically wrong with Nvidia on Linux? Maybe it’s because I switched to Linux fairly recently but I haven’t noticed many Nvidia specific issues yet.

The answer is trees take years to grow and aren’t suitable in places like rooftops

candle_lighter,
@candle_lighter@lemmy.ml avatar

And you can’t grow trees on concrete. This one is particular is just the first one of it’s kind and it’s mostly in a spot to show off the technology. I’m not aware of any other ones that have been built yet.

I care about poor people so therefore I must be poor.

Nothing like freedom like actively removing people from having multiple choices of transit by making illegal to build anything that isn’t dependent on cars.

Nothing like freedom like being forced to spend thousands on a several ton machine to do any task outside your home.

Nothing like freedon like being forced to pay predatory insurance to private corporations in order to be legally allowed to drive your vehicle.

Nothing like freedom like being dependent on oil companies that actively lobby against you in order to drive the vehicle that you are forced to own.

Nothing like freedom like having infustructure that denies poor people and disabled people from participating in society.

Nothing like freedom like having no independence if you are too old, too young, too intoxicated, or too disabled to drive.

Nothing like freedom like being forced to have a license issued by your government in order to be independent.

Nothing like freedom like being forced to use a vehicle that spies on you and collects information such as your sexual activity, immigration status, ‘private’ conversations, location, and much more.
