I passed on the opportunity to go down there to study the pyramids back in my college days. I was a few years into anthropology studies and really would have loved to go, but came up with too many excuses not to go… My Spanish wasn’t good enough. I didn’t want to fall behind on classes and push back my graduation. Fucking idiot that I was passed on an opportunity some people only dream of.
One of my Mexican friends was just saying how worried she is to go back down to visit her family and boyfriend.
I learned to sew when I was little, so I have no qualms busting out the kit to put a few stitches in something. It’s not a hard skill to pick up, and definitely something I think everyone should learn. Especially in this day and age, where everything is so damn expensive! Your stitches don’t have to be perfect, they just have to hold.
My alone NYE when the wife is working is typically a dinner of hors d’oeuvres type foods, made throughout the night. Cheese and crackers, some summer sausage if I have it, puff pastries with spinach or Buffalo chicken, pigs in a blanket, mozzarella sticks, maybe some samosas, even pizza rolls. For entertainment, a good video game or two and several of the NYE streams on YouTube to make fun of.
Looking forward to seeing how God awful the Planet Fitness show is this year! Dick Clark and Casey Kasem are both rolling in their graves tomorrow night for sure.
Thank you for being a good person anyway! Your plans may both have been ruined, but you’re a hero to that guy! You’ll both remember each other for the rest of your lives!
I just switched from Liftoff because it hasn’t received an update in 6 months and is now breaking. As of last week, it no longer opens the subbed list for me.
I tried Voyager and Connect. It looks like I may be sticking with Connect, as I’m way happier with how smooth it is and the fact that it’s not harvesting my data like some of the more popular browsers.
They’re not his bodyguards. They’re there to hold him back as long as they can while you run away. This is not to give you an chance to escape, but because he gets disappointed and sad if the hunt is over too soon.
I would do this when I was still playing Elden Ring. Signal a fair fight, trade blows a bit, make a few “mistakes” that made it seem like I was playing bad. Then score a “lucky hit” that’d finish them off. That way, they hopefully come out of it feeling like it was a fair fight. If I actually mess up and die, that’s fine too. It’s all in good fun. My goal was just to draw the fight out into something amusing and satisfying for both of us, compared to the 10 second hack and slash, Rivers of Blood/magic spam tryhards you’d get all the time. Those I didn’t hesitate to flex on.
Y’see, what ya do is take yer two cords and cut the ends off. Strip the wire and tie 'em together. Then ya wrap em in electrical tape so they’re water tight! Bam! Problem solved!
