I know it’s not even close there yet. It can tell you to kill yourself or to kill a president. But what about when I finish school in like 7 years? Who would pay for a therapist or a psychologist when you can ask for help a floating head on your computer?...
Given the vast array of existing pitfalls in AI, not to mention the outright biases and absence of facts - AI psychology would be deeply flawed and would more likely kill people.
Person: I’m having unaliving thoughts, I feel like it’s the only thing I can do
AI: Ok do it then
That alone is why it’ll never happen.
Also we need to sort out how to house, heal and feed our people before we start going and replacing masses of workforce.
As someone who also has an over-producing lemon tree I actually don’t mind people taking them. Like, what am I going to do with like 200 lemons? Leave them for the invasive possums to eat? They’re absolutely feral.
I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds
And you know how they explained time travel not making sense in Doctor Who? They called it “wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff” and hand waved all that shit away.
Apparently doctors and nurses have been paid off to peddle this and it’s all part of a big global hoax.
Meanwhile my sister with $80,000 nursing student loans is like “Wtf where’s my money? You mean I nearly died working my butt off for nothing??” - 80 hours “full time” per week.
Also ignoring the fact that if even 0.001% of the global medical community has misgivings about accepting what I assume must have been an enormous bribe that we would have heard about it??
And you can’t remediate the issue because consoles aren’t upgradable. And then the question is - why did they sell the game on console in the first place?

I want to study psychology but won't AI make it redundant in a couple of years?
