I’ve always just used konsole or gnome terminal. Never really looked into what else is available. Tried cool-retro-term the other day, but the novelty wore off pretty fast for me....
Dude I’m not interested in going scorched earth on one of the most useful repositories of practical information and discussion, and I’m disturbed that you’re so zealous to do so.
I tried fre:ac but got an error from cddb when trying to connect to the database. Looking to rip to both FLAC and to Opus. Ideally with the latest codec updates....
I have 64GB as future proofing (ITX board, two slots, can’t address any more). Normally I probably use 8 to 10 of those doing things like gaming and hoarding internet tabs like they’re a nonrenewable resource. I actually managed to crash my machine with an out of memory condition compiling something a while back. I don’t remember what and I’m sure it doesn’t count as regular use but I installed ZRAM to prevent it from happening again.
Seriously this was very surprising. I’ve been experimenting with GrayJay since it was announced and I largely think it’s a pretty sweet app. I know there are concerns over how it isn’t “true open source” but it’s a hell of a lot more open than ReVanced. Plus, I like the general design and philosophy of the app....
As an arch user and a German heavy main, this actually feels fair. Both are capable machines but neither are going to maintain themselves, both come with an entire manual you’re expected to read, and nobody will be sympathetic to you if you don’t know the basics of what you’re doing (rotate the steel box for fucks sake).
I use btop, iotop, jnettop, and radeontop. I rarely need any individual piece of information any of them but they make for an incredible spread of blinkenlights.
I apologize if this is already answered somewhere but I’m curious what exactly a fitgirl repack is? I know it’s a pirated version of a game but like is it just an installer or something? And if you imported the game into steam for example can you be “banned” or VAT (idr the term)
No way we’re downloading the same repacks, it’s rare to see anything as small as fitgirl’s releases in my experience. Your CPU had better be ready to step up to the plate though.

Which terminal emulator do you use?

I use a WM btw (lemmy.world)
I deleted all my post from my reddit account, can they still monetize them?
Deleting a post is simply marking a piece of text so nobody sees it, but I think the text is still stored in their servers....
It happens 🤷 (sh.itjust.works)
What linux program do you use to rip CDs (just audio)
I tried fre:ac but got an error from cddb when trying to connect to the database. Looking to rip to both FLAC and to Opus. Ideally with the latest codec updates....
As a normal, boring user that does nothing special other than browse the internet and the occasional "casual coding" -- what am I supposed to do with 32GiB of ram?
Title. Besides setting tmpfs to use 10GiB of it to store downloads.
